Weakest Kessoku Band superfan.

Just watched it for the first time. It was a ride and pretty much everything people claim trigun was. Except the characters were actually funny here.
2000s Gonzo is always full of surprises from Gankutsuou to Last Exile. Quite literally they don't make them like they used to.

Ngl, I’m really liking Bocchi. The depressing thing is that it kind of makes me want to pick up music again.
Also, the alcoholic bassist is best girl, and Bocchi imagining herself as a drunk was the most raw shit I’ve seen from a drunk anime girl.

Watched the films of Yuru Camp and Isekai Quartet. Isekai Quartet is pretty big bore and the few more interesting ideas are under implemented (a world populated by people who were influenced by the main characters).
Yuru Camp is comfy but I wish it would had less padding and more how the characters are doing as adults. The idea of a Slice of Life characters 10 years later is a really nice idea.

Went to the Reincarnated as a Slime movie last night in theaters. Animation was spectacular, voice acting spot on, and the plot, while playing it safe as Slime often does, is as fluid as its fights. Diablo gets a moment to shine, and and at one point got the whole theater laughing. I throughly recommend watching this in cinemas lads, they put effort in, especially towards the music.

I watched welcome to nhk because someone here talked about it being good and to you I like say FUCK YOU. Honestly one of the best I have seen, but I made the mistake of thinking it would be a would be a light-hearted comedy.
surprisingly the anime might be the most light hearted version of NHK
In the original novel Sato gets CP instead of normal porn from Yamazaki, goes on a drug filled bender, and one if not both of them talked about making bombs to set off.
I've actually never got around to reading the manga despite rewatching the anime serval times, I've heard they flesh out misaki a bit more and they don't give Yamazaki a happy ending like they did in the anime.

I also now the author wrote a sequel/remake oneshot of the novel that's more in line with the anime and what's interesting is a random anon on /a/ reached out to Takimoto and got it officially translated and published on kindle which while 7 bucks is a rip-offs, there's no middleman taking a cut off the top, everything's going straight to him, plus since the whole thing was dumped on /a/ by the translator its free if you know how to search the archive.

Do you need to watch the show for it?

I finished reading 20th Century Boys and loved it. From 4 most popular Urasawa mangas the only one I didn't read is Monster because I already saw the anime in 2018, but I might give it a chance this year in order to compare manga to the anime. Still, I like Monster more. The characters just made it for me.

It does take place post season 2 but before the next arc in the manga- they did their own thing, however it was spectacular and canon it seems-; in theory you could, one guy in the theater dragged his friend there who hadn't seen it from what I overheard, however would I recommend it? You're gonna be confused on a lot, even though they do try to catch up the audience briefly on the past two seasons. My point is that they put a fuck ton of work into this, and you're doing yourself a disservice if you haven't watched the series, but you will be entertained as fuck.

I still say 20thCB is the better work despite it nose diving in the finally 2 volumes, although I have gotten into a few spats over auguring that Master Keaton is the stronger series (if I had to rank my top 3 Urasawa series it would be Pluto, Keaton, then 20thCB)
Speaking of Uraswa, apparently Asadora is turning into another Billy Bat with a bunch of kaiju and tokusatsu stuff thrown in, probably won't go as off the rails as it did but it sounds a bit more interesting then the shit that was translated.

I still have to get the last five omnibus volumes of 20th Century Boys. As far as Urasawa works, I think Master Keaton is his most underrated work.

The animation was creative and the funny memes did the show's marketing for it. That being said I remember seeing someone recommend Do It Yourself a bit earlier in this thread. I checked it out and two episodes in it does CGDCT overall better than Bocchi for me. Much cozier atmosphere. Both seem worth continuing.
I like DiY too but it's a bit too autistic/saccharine for my tastes. I like the more cynical approach of something like Bocchi better for these things, it's not afraid to poke fun at its characters, at itself or at you.

Basically Crunchyroll fired the lead of Mob Psycho's dub because they wanted to get better pay for voice actors since Crunchyroll notoriously underpays their VA's for their dubs, alongside the entire translation team.
Tbh he had no real case. You can go ficore, or you can be union or do nonunion. You can't have your cake and eat it too unfortunately.
If Crunchyroll bows to SAG then nobody will be able to voice act again except people in SAG. A union contract would kill the company.

I'm doing a Nadia rewatch right now. Grandis >>>>>>>>

Ars no Kyojuu has been giving me certain vibes I find interesting but hard to explain but then I saw a comment saying it had the vibes of an anime version of a PS2 era JRPG and that seems pretty accurate to me. With a few changes I feel like this could've been the plot to an Ar tonelico game for instance.

I’ve said this before on this thread, but Kanojo mo Kanojo is currently nailing the dramatic scenes in the last couple of chapters. This recent one is proof of it:

The first time I’ve seen Naoya cry like this was just a shock, but it will even be more of a shock once Mirika finds out the hard way. Overall, do not underestimate HIROYUKI.

Something tells me that this is going to end soon in the most hilarious way, yet he really does have a knack for drama that was not only unexpected, but also not forced. Overall, this was a great chapter.
