EDIT: I went to MAL and some butthurt faggot gave it a 1 because of the joke about Kanta selling a guy as a sex slave to faggot.
Lol. Desert Punk was wild...

but only Cromartie High School and Black Lagoon had the balls to actually SAY Faggot.

Monster is woke and Nazi-cock-gobbling garbage, which is somewhat of an achievement back in the day.

The first is Tenma's decision to save Johan over the Mayor which I've seen people argue its stupid
It's retarded because obviously the child of DDR traitors refugees, who must have been brutally murdered by the evil Stasi, is vastly more important than a mere mayor. The cuck made the 100% politically correct choice. The mayor must have had many other people jockeying for his position, and even if he were to survive and re-assume it, a hospital which let the pwecious DDR traitor babby die would never see any money.

and the way the series ends is pointless, which I think are some of the most brain dead arguments about the series
The way the series ends is pointless and retarded. Incidentally, the doctor who cut out your brain must have been a genius, seeing as you can both post and simp for trap cock.

Let's talk Escaflowne please.
Oh God, yes please, Escaflowne is one of my all-time favorites. I watched the movie first before the TV show when I was 13, I absolutely adored it. Yes, I understand now it has pacing issues up the wazoo and that it tells the story differently and therefore the characters are different in personality all because Sunrise was pandering to its Korean audience, but I don't care. I think it's beautiful, and the soundtrack is godly. It's a different soundtrack from the TV series (only one that made its return was "Dance of Curse"), and in my humble opinion, Escaflowne's soundtrack is my favorite Yoko Kanno music ever. It's just so fantastical and can go from flighty and idealistic to grim and pessimistic, it's all over the place in mood but its tone is undoubtably Escaflowne.

It's one of the better isekais out there if you ask me, even though the TV show sadly got cut down from its proposed 39 episodes to 26, so it's rushed, but again, I don't care. Gaia is not Earth and its customs and peoples aren't Earth-like, Hitomi is a strong female protagonist who grows throughout her journey, her romance with Van is sweet and believable (like hmngngnghjbfhg I think some fans are pissed off by the ending but it makes so much sense guys grow a spine), the other side characters are likeable with their own ambitions and relationships that are also sweet and sometimes tragic, character design is absolutely gorgeous trust me on this, and the twist is really cool I swear it. And also best boy is Dilandau hands down, and I watched the Ocean dub so Andrew Francis is forever Dilandau to me, both in TV show and movie in which he was absolutely deliciously psychotic I love him.

Oh, and then there's the manga Tokyopop released which tells things differently because it was pitched completely differently from how the show then turned out. I honestly like it even though it's all over the place in tone (lol Aki Katsu and his love of bewbs Hitomi and Van legit look like prototypes of Yura and Makoto Onada) and that it plays out the role of the Winged Goddess differently in that originally, Hitomi was to be a co-pilot to Escaflowne in which she gets possessed by the spirit of the mecha, and also Dilandau was really obsessed with Van's mother that he kidnapped her and that's how Van's journey actually starts because it was more personal than it became in the show final (in which he's just the chosen pilot for Escaflowne for when he would come of age, he just needed a dragon's heart to power it up). Oh wait, no, it was still personal in the show final, but in a different way. Revenge is a running theme in the series.

Legit, Escaflowne is unique in that it has different retellings and I think that's wonderful. Most people take issue with it, I just like the fairy tale aspect of it and that's why I have no issue with how different the world of Gaia can be depending on which medium you choose.

So yes, please-please-please watch Escaflowne. It keeps falling by the wayside here in the States and I wish it didn't. Latin America apparently adores it from what I've heard, but it's Latin America, they adore anime in general.

Also my mom actually liked Escaflowne despite it having been part of a deal between the two of us. Her favorite character was Allen, but she's biased towards long-haired blonde men apparently.

EDIT: And since I'm gonna keep adding edits to this, when you're done with the anime, go watch the abridged series by hbi2k. It's absolutely hilarious.

I believe the manga actually does say fag. The dub is pretty bad at times and the anime itself is mid-tier 2004 animation where they were still getting used to digital and only a couple scenes are really good.

How do you hate this? Pardon the dub, but it literally is some guy selling another guy to fag and telling the fag that the dude is also a fag.

Let's talk Escaflowne please. I still haven't seen it yet I have Yakusoku Wa Irenai on my ipod for about 14 years because it is a fucking banger.

I don't know why but it reminds me of the Nord Highland arc in Cold Steel doubly so because giant mechas lmao. I'm totally here for the long blonde haired elf queen though.

Is it good? I know it aired after Eva finished in Japan and bombed. Yes I also know my precious Kirby Morrow was in the original dub and that there was a VERY heavily altered brief run on Fox kids for some reason.

I'm not too big on mecha but the 90s tokyo/medieval type ascetic looks interesting.
It was one of the anime shows that aired on German MTV and got their own EDM intro song:

The low-tech mecha thing was pretty neat.

So that new Junji Ito anime collection is out on Netflix. Anyone watch it yet?

In the newest chapter of "Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru" there's a .gif page in the scanlation and it's weird. Is this the translator doing something cheeky, or is this something in the official version? Also if it is accurate, what is in the print version?

This would be an interesting thing for web-primary manga to do in the digital age. Its nice to see a medium getting used well.

If anyone cares, Crunchyroll did another awards show and basically cut off the entirety of the Fall season in favor of AOT and Demon Slayer.

I feel like some Awards shows do just need to make the show about the 2nd best if the best is just gonna sweep. It's like going against Ralph in the Julays, he got beat up twice in Portugal. No one is going to beat up Ralph in being a trainwreck.

Effectively give the best thing the award, but then do the show excluding it. Then again I never watched awards shows, I assumed it was something that only fags in Hollywood watched.

I'm probably gonna pick up the Monogatari Off Season light novels sometimes soon, also might watch FLCL or Aria next

Going out to watch the Reincarnated as a Slime movie tonight with my friend, I'm really hyped and will definitely report on it tomorrow.

In manga news, I read Oshi no Ko. Holy fuck, a idol manga that isn't about idols, written by the Kaguya author, fuck. Read it in two days, loved it, bought the first volume in print I loved it so much

I watched the first episode and so far it's still far from the worst Junji Ito anime, that's still collection.

Wouldn't say its an amazing adaptation, just serviceable (although I'm haven't read a lot of Ito's work so actual fans will probably argue otherwise).

Still find it funny that it came out before Uzumaki. Its been what 3 and a half years since it was announced and almost a full year since the last delay excuse. (iirc it was the director wanting more time)
I'm trying to think of the last anime that's was "announced" but took forever to get made, best guess it maybe one of the eva rebuilds but I didn't keep track of when they where first scheduled to premiere and when they actually did.

Checks out, the only people that pay them are the normies who exclusively watch the shittiest Shonen.
Yeah and I am not surprised the Fall Season is excluded, probably fearful of sweeps from Chainsaw Man and Bocchi along with the reminder of their Mob Psycho controversy.

Yesterday was kind of a bad situation for me as far as personal matters go, but in between that and other things, there are at least some positive news that I can report:

Two of my favorite mangas (one that I’m still currently reading) are actually getting anime adaptations:

TenPuru: No One Can Live on Loneliness

The same guy behind Grand Blue Dreaming did this one, and to no one’s surprise, this is funny for obvious reasons. Here’s what the official art for the anime looks like, as well as the trailer for it:

Yoshioka even did art celebrating the TV release for it:

Rokudo no Onna-tachi

I was lucky to actually finish Yuji Nakamura’s manga out of randomness, and it was very well done with a good ending. This one, though, was probably the most unexpected announcement to get an anime release after just two years. Even the comments I read from manga websites actively wished this had an anime release from late 2020.

This is the official visual art for what the anime could look like, as it’s expected to release this upcoming April:

94C303B6-BA32-4071-B6B4-8FB73A9FC17A.jpeg

It looks different from the manga version, even though I can’t really be shocked by that.

Overall, it actually warms my heart to see my favorite mangas that I, again, just picked out of random to get anime adaptations that either could be memorable or just okay at best. Still, I can’t complain.

2023 could be another great year for comedy/harem/delinquent anime. Delinquent-based anime should be next on the horizon as the months go buy.
