The director was losing his faith in Christianity at the time, that might explain some things. Not many though though. Being so mysterious is part of the movie's charm I think.
Chio Chan's School Road fits that bill pretty well.

It has lots of religious themes. The director wanted to become a priest until he doubted his faith. There are many different Interpretations. I think the anime represents losing ones faith.
The girl protected the egg for hundreds or thousands of years but it turned out to be empty and the girl turned out to be actually a grown woman. I think that's the director saying his belief in god was naive and who is more naive than a child?
But you could also say that the world is empty without religion. That's why the world in Tenshi No Tamago (Angels egg) is dark & empty. Or perhaps god left etc. The male protagonist also shares some similarities with Jesus Christ like carrying around a cross-like sword-thing & having bandaged hands so one could think he was once nailed to the cross-thing.
There is no clear answer. But the movie is absolutel beautiful.

I recommend Bobby's girl or also known as Bobby's in deep.
It's a slice of life movie from 1985 by studio Madhouse with a surprisingly dark ending.

Check out the original Ikki Tousen. It manages to mix in fanservice and fighting. It's basically Romance Of The Three Kingdoms with torn clothes and panty shots.
It's apparently really popular and did well in the states, so they gave this a sequel instead of other shows that are in dire need of one. The show is inoffensive and not even memorable, but it got a special edition release from Funi.
Miura's manga assistants want to continue the story, but the publisher doesn't. Especially with how the last chapter ended, which is unfortunate. I don't blame Guts... after literally suffering hell on earth and losing a limb while getting cucked, I'd care way more about a sword than Casca.

Berserks fate is still “undecided” per the afterword of the final Berserk volume, volume 41 published in Japan 5 months ago.
And was confirmed with the English/Western release of the final volume happening November of this year.
The editorial staff also stated in September, "no information to share about the future" of Kentarou Miura's Berserk manga "at this time." The statement added that the staff's priority will "always be placed on him — what he would think if he were still with us."
No one currently knows what is happening with Berserk. But the publisher and staff seem to be playing it close to the vest and keeping it very private. Just in case anyone wanted an update where things stand.

Finished Captain Ken by Osamu Tezuka.
Holy shit, every time I finish a Tezuka work I feel like shit for him to be taken so early. He was a fucking genius and a pioneer of the best kind. Captain Ken was so good, making even the villains good characters, such a fun and creative concept, even more when it was made in 1960. A work that is 62 years old and it is better than most people would make today in what 460 pages.
And the afterword are always so candid, even the people back then had shit taste and couldn't understand sci-fi concepts.
I wish he wasn't dead.

He did a lot of stuff, and in any case he was taken so early because he regularly pulled all-nighters working. So was Ishinomori. There's a lesson for you all here.

Far as I’m concerned, no news is good news, it means discussions are still ongoing behind the scenes. If the answer was a hard “NO”, they would’ve just come out and said it.
The fact that it’s dragged out this long without a hard no gives me hope that the issue isn’t whether or not they should continue it, but in what manner.

Has anyone tried watching the new season of Tiger and Bunny, I remember watching the first season around 10-ish years ago and liking it well enough, although I watched it when I was just getting into anime and would watch almost anything that was put in front of me.
Knowing netflix track record I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to fuck it up somehow (iirc they did manage to fumble the first season by removing the sponsors from the show and cutting the last 2-3 min out from each episode).

I've been meaning to but haven't gotten around to it. From what I've heard, its okay but its more about the side cast instead of the two leads, which can be either a plus or a minus depending on why you're watching it.
