Lol oh boy. :story:

Speaking of Uzaki, since she is voiced by Naomi Oozora in Japanese, I wonder if that means that, if The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated should also get an English dub, we'd get Monica Rial as Jahy (also voiced by Oozora) opposite Kimberly Anne Campbell as "Magical Girl" Kyouko Jingu (voiced in Japanese by Sumire Uesaka who is also the voice of Hayase Nagatoro)?
You know who'd be a good fit for Jahy? Hilary Haag. I've always liked her work. Also, it was the 10th anniversary of the Kill Me Baby anime a few days ago on January 6th. I actually like the dub for that show.

Who thought this was a good idea? It's going to be extremely edited and people are still going to complain about it.

Ahh yes the 'black' tan with white straight hair. I'd have guessed latina or something myself but it's an anime they're all gonna be ambiguously brown. Could just have her pronounce shit wrong to sound 'black'.
These twitter retards don't know what a fucking Okinawan is & it shows everytime this shit happens. It happened with Nessa, it happened at the time of Mirko dub too, it will keep happening.

It happened with Nessa
I think Nessa might be Arabic or Mediterranean given the setting of Galar, but she is actually dark-skinned if not actually black. The manga practically confirms this with the tone.

(That little boy on the right isn't Hop, his name's Marvin, but he's of darker skin than the main character there.)

For reference, Iris and Lenora are canonically black, and it shows in the manga:

This is where it gets interesting. Here's Olympia colored:

But this is her in the manga:

She's clearly not white, but she's not actually black like Grant.

Coconut mommy Olivia:

Notice her skin tone is lighter than Grant and Lenora, but she's notably darker than Nanu.

When in doubt, turn to the manga given the different tones used. They'll confirm dark skin more efficiently when they don't outright come out and confirm sun-kissed skin/nationality, but as a rule of thumb, tan has slightly more gray tone to them than white/typical Japanese.

On the occasion the character isn't depicted dark in tone in the manga, you'll still know by their physique and colored manga spreads if they don't explicitly tell you their race.

Also interestingly enough, Leon isn't depicted as tan-skinned in the manga, least not at first. Might've been an oopsie on the toner's part.

'Kay I'm done with the manga toning sperging. Was something I've begun to observe last year.

True patrician tastes is admitting that Seed is actually good and not just whining about the Japanse having shit tastes with it still being one of the most popular gundam series over there instead of whatever your favorite gundam is. Too many people still seethe over the idea of Seed being good/popular even after all these years.

Destiny sadly had its potential squandered with some of the bizarre writing decisions, especially regarding Shinn's character. Most I'll say in praise is I like the design of the Destiny Gundam.
Actually I think SEED is just OK, but I love Destiny to no end, and no, Shinn's character wasn't a bizarre writing decision, it was always intended for him to be a dark hero and never joins Archangel's side. To be anything against this wouldn't make much sense since it was mostly a story about information and biases and two of the characters that dwel into it are integral to it (Rey and Gilbert), and to make him escape this grasp would be against Shinn's personality and it would make Athrun's departure the same.

Gilbert is the best antagonist in gundam and his characterization is way superior to Char's retarded path. His voice actor did just a good job.

Also Destiny having so many different versions makes it able for you to pick your favorite one (The Special Edition ones are simply the best gundam series to movies to this date, even more funny when SEED ones are so bad), and the part of the ending of SEED DESTINY The Edge always makes me happy overall

That show had legendary op and ed:
I think Ninja girl VA turned out to be a crackhead or something.
I'm enjoying the second season of Demon Slayer. Episode 13 was nuts. Ufotable blew me away again. Shit felt like a movie.

Also can't wait for the upcoming episodes. Been waiting to see those chapters animated since the anime began.
It might be explained but the power ups in the last episode felt way too forced, especially the hero's.

Yes, It does all get explained. There is a reason Muzan fears sun-breathing and those ear-rings so heavily.

There is a reason Nezuko is a different from every other demon he has created.

I’m just excited for the next couple episodes cause the real fight finally begins.

I remember being less and less interested in the Demon Slayer manga after the entertainment arc and it feeling especially rushed after the blacksmith village arc. I wonder if they'll improve on it at all in the anime.

Oh yeah, shit flies after Blacksmith Village.

Which was largely due to the author having personal issues at time.

Ufotable might add episodes. They already added an anime original episode with Rengoku. So I could see them doing more of that with the other Hashira.

The thing that most bothers me is the when rather than how. Like, unless Nezuko is mega-manning everytime a demon is killed in her vicinity she shouldn't suddenly get so strong, ditto the hero going super human over witnessing a demon killing humans indiscriminantly. The show was actually pretty consistent of having some months of training between power ups.

I get it. But there was months of training between the Mugen Train arc and the Entertainment district arc and Tanjiro went on missions from the crow during that period as well?

So it makes sense he would improve. Especially cause this is the first time we have seen him fight seriously since that training and after he has actually trained sun-breathing.

As for Nezuko. I’m not gonna spoil. It will be revealed later.

Destiny could have been good if the focus wasn't taken away from Shin. If Gundam Seed was supposed to be a "modern retelling" of the first Gundam and Destiny the Z Gundam equivialnt, why Kira and the Archangel crew took the spotlight away from Shin and the Minerva? Amuro never took the spotlight from Kamile. I blame Chikai Morosawa and the malice behind the scenes i.e Hanlon's razor.

Honestly if we get more OVAS, Obanai SERIOUSLY needs one earlier. If you know, you know. I'd argue Gyomei too. Kaigaku too. I thought he looked cool as a demon but it just felt outta left field and just needed a little more explanation but my main gripe is Obanai. Man really needed to come in EARLIER with that story and not in the middle of the final fight.
I do wonder if Giyuu is getting his whole episode since it was slightly touched on a taishou-era secret or if it'll get ran past.

Even with how fast it went, I still cried like a bitch and loved reading the manga. It was one of the few times I didn't mind how fast it went but it needed cooking in some spots but was still good. Mainly cause I think the mangaka had notes of how she wanted everything to go at least.

New Nagatoro drama has dropped.

Apparently the English VA for her is black,,which has of course got Twitter screaming about how the character is black/getting made at people making the “black Nagatoro” jokes.

That said, apparently the English dub is apparently pretty good.

Bit of a silly thing to get upset about. Voice acting is probably one of the few places in acting where you can be 100% color blind without it being annoying and affecting the story.

It's very likely that she was picked for being black but she may also just have a voice that works. I really doubt that it's just going to be African-American vernacular and Uhuru nonsense.

Read this interview from march 2006 and you will undestand much more about the writer's point of view and you will understand how different it is from just a simple Zeta equivalent (which isn't, I for example, don't like Zeta much but love Destiny)

Did you anticipate from the start that Shinn would find himself in that situation in the last episode? If you're referring to arriving at Kira's locations, no, I didn't anticipate that from the start. I thought such an eventuality was impossible, so I didn't consider it. Kira does not represent absolute justice. I wanted a Shinn who would tell his truth, "his judgment, actions and responsibility". Are you sure of the information they give you? Are you ready to face the consequences? Etc. I was hoping that viewers would discuss the various characters with their friends. I don't think Shinn is the kind of character that can be liked when judged at first glance. But as in the case of Fllay, looking at them closely, everyone can find small fragments of themselves. This is why I didn't want him to accept Kira's request, but to remain a dark hero until the end.

Instead of relying on the dualism of evil / good, he wanted to represent how two characters can responsibly live their lives despite having different ideas. Exactly. I wanted both of them to keep their case. Kira is Kira, Lacus is Lacus, Shinn is Shinn. Athrun had recently begun to decide what to think, initially he too shared Dullindal's points of view.
