Watching all of the Getter Robo anime that wasn't made by Toei now that I've read the manga. Is the Arc anime any good?
It's not so much an adaption of the manga as much as it is a giant tribute to the manga and the classic OVAs. To me it's really great as a fan, even if some manga parts are a little disappointing since they clearly blew their budget on flashback scenes, random new scenes referencing the OVAs, and especially scenes referencing Getter Robo Go (manga version).
The animations is...bad, to say the least. But you can't deny there's tons of passions of love to Getter saga in the anime. I won't spoile you, but there's lots of fanservice in the anime, and I think the ending is a fitting conclusion to Getter saga as a whole
The animation is all over the place IMO. Some of it's terrible and blatantly lazy, other parts are pretty good. Even if it all lacks the soul of the three Getter OVAs and looks too modern and clean in general instead of the perfectly gritty atmosphere from the manga the other three Getter OVAs captured. But modern anime doesn't do "gritty" well it seems.

I also watched the first season for the first time some months ago and it was great, how is the second season? Watched the first couple of episodes but it felt like retreading the same grounds.
I really enjoyed the second season because it's the only GitS stuff that goes into Motoko's pre-cyborg back story.

Unless Arise does. I wouldn't know because Arise was awful.

What sites do you use if I may ask? Have only used aqstream but it doesn't have AT-X so I was only able to catch Takt Op.
I use AnimeBee or KissAnime dot Ru and the Bee has Takt on there for you to watch.
The title is honestly super misleading because Takeda clearly doesn't annoy Futaba (she just lies to herself lmao), but God, My Senpai is Annoying is too cute and gives me the feels hard now that I'm in a relationship that fulfills my "huge guy, tiny girl" kink dynamic and the jabs at her breast envy give me the giggles. Though the beta couple of Kazama and Sakurai is cute, too, they're way too good to just be the B-plot like that.

Looking forward to the second season (I will be big upset if it doesn't happen).

(Although My Love Story!! is real hard to top, I won't lie. But I'm glad we got contenders.)
I remember your kink praise for Ore Monogatari!! lol The only issue is that in its 12 episodes, we didn't get much of a focus on them as a couple. Hell, Kazuma got more of a focus on his crush on Sakurai and her brother's crush on Natsumi. I'll pick up the manga to see if it has any more plot or at least has more of the girl who's really into vodka.

Gotta give it to Ufotable, they can make the lowest, common denominator trash pretty as hell.
The moment a friend "enlighten" me that Ufotable's "budget" is just a bunch of filters and inhouse post-production team, the worshipping of Ufotable from the common weebs disgusted me. Ita made much worse when they also tried to defend its management from its fraud cases

And yet, weebs get mad when you dare say Fate/Zero sucks or that the Garden of Sinners movie series wasn't all that special.

Funnily enough, they shit on Gyo, but I thought it was an alright watch.

I just realized that most of Ufotable's works are just adaptation of franchises, or owned by big players. What you can count as original works are either co-developed, or flopped

I dunno how well-known Magical Sisters Yoyo & Nene is in general, but if it flopped, that explains why no one in the West knows of it. Which sucks, I thought it was cute.

I don't really see how either of those things, especially Ufotable having a very strong inhouse post-production team, makes them an less of a good studio. Most studio makes use of post-production and are the usual reasons why a show ends up as good as it is. They fix up any issues that made it through the previous steps in production, add effects to add that extra flare, smooth scene transitions, add in the sound effects, and a crap ton of other things. There are so many steps before post-production that have to be done well leading into post-production that you can't just discredit and give the full praise to the last step of a long process. Also, if the previous stages of production were in poor enough shape that post-production is the big reason why Ufotable looks so great then it makes them even more impressive of a team.

Ufotable also probably leans into strong post-production and filters because they probably have a very skilled team in those departments, just like in their cgi departments, so why would they intentionally cripple themselves by not leaning into their strongest elements? It's like Sunrise has certain studios internally that are more skilled with mecha animation or combat which they'll usually make use of for their bigger IP that use mecha, because unless there's gross mismanagement (or the A-Team isn't available because they're stuck on another project) it makes the most sense to use the right people for the job.

It's still incredible impressive in what they can accomplish

You know how hard it is to actually release original works compared to adaptions from major companies that are willing to both give you a very nice budget, but also help advertise said work? Original works almost have to be self funded unless they manage to rope in other investors, which is pretty hard to do given the risk involved and how they are likely to flop without a pre-established fanbase or massive marketing ability. It's not even a problem with just anime, but with everything getting released.

I bet a lot of studios would love to put out original works since that means they have full control over the property and merchandising, but the risk likely involved outweighs the benefits unless they get a surprise success or have enough saved money that it being a flop won't cripple the studio. It's one of the reasons why when a studio puts out an original work they usually rely on who's working on it as a marketing attempt to get people to check it out.

Don't really hold it against a studio if they make good money putting out adaptions and want to continue to do that, along with the odd attempt at original works, because it pays the bills. Doesn't make them less of a studio in my mind unless they're just putting out straight garbage adaptions with zero actually effort put in like many other anime studios are far more guilty of doing.

Do you guys think this video is satire? I mean, I like Bleach and everything but pretending it's extremely complex to this degree and saying anyone who doesn't like it just doesn't understand it sounds like not only bait but someone attempting to sounds like an extremely salty Bleach fan and this dude's entire channel gives off that vibe. I feel like this dude is a potential cow if he's actually serious and there's more to him than just making bad anime videos.

There's some extreme insecurity in trying to justify the things you like to people by calling them deep instead of just saying you like the characters and cool fights. Like, I'm a fan of a lot of things that don't have the best public reception and I can't find it in myself to really care because I know what I like and other people's opinions can't really influence that at all since I know why I like the shit I like. I cannot imagine being any other way tbh.

I'll say what I repeatedly post on /a/ whenever Bleachfaggotry pops up in other threads: it had two good arcs and fell off a cliff with its dull, one-note characters and plot repeat.

That's not particularly new. A few years after it ended, Bleach ended up getting this "special treatment" where fans (western specifically and black) went on about how the ending was "perfect" and "misunderstood" and that they were "real ones" for sticking with it after all of this time. I don't care about the mental gymnastics these spergs come up with to defend it, but that last arc was one of the worst endings to anything ever, even Kubo wanted nothing to do with it.

This video, for instance, screams "just leave me alone for fucks sake" (which is kind of normal for eypatchwolf to act like a bitch, but I digress).

Here's the thing, you can take "risks" when adapting per-existing properties. Madhouse used to do it (and went back to doing it) with things like Akagi, Ore no monogatari, Death Note, Parasyte, Ippo, Btoom, etc. Their catalogue of adaptations is so broad that it makes them a studio that makes them look like a studio that would tackle anything and make it at least worthwhile. Even mediocre studios like gonzo can take something like Welcome to the NHK and make it somewhat digestible. Ufotable mostly has adaptations of shitty vn's that were not all that popular before they took them (fate, kara no kyokai), adaptations of some jrpg's and a shonen. I'm convinced if they adapted something like Goodnight Punpun or even something like a remake of Gantz their talents would not be so wasted and they could at least turn in a profit.

The only "bad" animation studio I can think of is Deen though.

What exactly was Bleach's ending?
Ichigo spawns an abomination of power by impregnating Orihime.

Ishida gets forgiven for his war crimes.

Aizen walks away and is not killed (cuz people make mistakes and pls forgive and forget).

The soul society gets rebuild despite suffering a complete destruction by the hands of white Nazis.

Half the characters die but get revived.

The god of the soul society and his royal guard die (they show up now because Kubo did not envision them during Aizen's attack).

I think that's it.
