Part 6 is probably the part (in my opinion) that needs you to have read/watched all the previous parts and not just ones it directly references like Part 3. It acts as a sort of 'send-off' to everything that came before it and I can't see it having the same emotional impact were you to jump right into it or only read Part 3.

I'd compare it to something like Gundam Unicorn where you don't need to have watched any UC gundam to enjoy it, but a lot of the impact of the conflict and references will not do as much for someone with no background knowledge.
Yeah like Part 6 pretty much builds off of the previous parts which all are important to watch anyway as

Part 1 sets up DIO who is very important and also establishes a baseline of the Joestar's being heroic that have to fight some sort of evil
Part 2 introduces Joseph who is important for the two parts following it as well as doing some worldbuilding that adds to Part 1
Part 3 introduces Stands, establishes Jotaro, and is the conclusion of DIO
Part 4 expands on stands, shows Jotaro is still doing stuff after Part 3, and additional worldbuilding.
Part 5 does explain more where stands came from, how DIO obtained a stand, and establishes that DIO has children
Part 6 pretty much brings all that home

I for one am very excited to see gay priest finally getting the love he deserves, probably my favorite of the villains. Wonder if any anime-onlys are going to rage when he wins and resets everything.

Reminds me that I have to actually start back up watching jojo since I think I was half way through watching part 5. I've already read 1-6, but I like watching the anime adaption for the parts I enjoyed reading since I can skip watching the parts I didn't like (Part 3 outside of some key moments) or I heard had problems in the adaption (think it's only part 4?).
I think the only anime only's that will rage about it are mainly the ones that have been trying to use Part 6 as a battlefield for culture war nonsense due to Jolyne dying and her alternate universe counterpart dating Anasui

EDIT: Though I'd like to add Pucci really didn't win, he was close to winning but lost in the end and only goal he ever achieved was avenging DIO

Lmao he pussed out. While I found he was being a drama queen with the whole "MUH LIVELYHOOD" thing, given that he makes bank off of sponsorship and Patreon, I still emphasised with him getting buttfucked by Toei and their abuse of youtube's copyright systems. But to give up means that it'll just continue as is.
A lot more than that happened. He uploaded another video before this titled, "TOEI UPDATE Bad News & My Letter to the Author of One Piece." This has since been taken down by him as explained in the video you posted.

Yes, this sperg actually went and tried contacting Eichiro Oda, the mangaka for One Piece, as if he has anything to do with this. Not just that hired someone to read his letter to him in weeb and another before that addressed to Toei animation. It doesn't help that he made it look like a terrorist propaganda threat video which he plays in the latter part of the video.

It starts out alright. He leans a bit into the drama queen whining about muh job but whatever to each their own. It doesn't start to derail till it becomes evident he never ran this letter by a lawyer. To me it sounds like admission at least to Japan, which is what Toei primarily cares about.

He then goes onto threaten to boycott them and even pulls the classic "don't make me hit you." I doubt there's anything legally actionable in them, but if you're trying to assert that what you do is fair use and not trying harm the profit of a very conservative Japanese company, this ain't it.

After that was the letter to Oda. He's trying to blackmail Oda into going against his business partners by trying to guilt trip him.

He tries to use the themes and story of One Piece as reasoning as to why he should have his support and not Toei. It's super cringy and reminds me of I Hate Everything's damage control of the Last Jedi trying dog on negative reviewers for being negative about a movie that's trying to be about the light and positivity or whatever gay shit his excuse was. Shueisha and Oda have never been above denouncing literal piracy so I don't know why he thinks this line of reasoning would work.

He also talked about how he was getting lots of support from Japanese fans. This was noticeably absent from his last video, only mentioning the Japanese charity he had mentioned previously he would be donating to. I can't get to the comments from the deleted videos but I think that those comments in particular set Japanese fans off. Supposedly, here's a good summary of the reaction of the Japanese viewers.

My initial thoughts when it comes to Mark are basically the same. I thought he was unnecessarily sperging out like the Nostalgia Critic was years ago. His videos are very likely not fair use due to all the unlicensed footage used. And I think Mark's videos, while not as blatant, also likely wouldn't fall under fair use. I think he should've been getting his ducks in order years ago. It seems most people in this thread disagreed, that's fine. I thought it was just funny and the reaction that happened was even funnier.

Ultimately, I think he massively overplayed his hand. He likely would've had more luck putting pressure on Youtube as opposed to going to after Toei. Especially when it was likely just some ignorant intern at Toei's offices who filed all the claims. If Youtube's claim system wasn't so shitty this wouldn't have to happen. I also think he got unnecessary scrutiny over his conduct thanks to this. Someone on here mentioned how he had "worked with Toei" to promote the Dragon Ball symphony concerts when in all likelihood he didn't work with Toei but some other intervening party as he hasn't brought that up again at all. He's also been selling merch with very blatant and likely very actionable imagery from Dragon Ball as another example.

Started the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and I’m liking it significantly more than the manga. I did not care for the main characters when reading the manga but find them a lot more lively and likable here, and it does a better job of establishing up-front that Yuuji’s body is absolutely not normal and not something you should just accept without question.

My main issues with the manga don’t kick in until way later and have more to do with the overall story structure, so I’m curious to see how I will feel about the anime once it gets there. But I’m definitely enjoying it a lot in the moment, and think this is one of those cases where (so far, at least) the anime is definitively just better than the source material.

Regarding Jojo, I really don’t think Part 6 makes for an appropriate introduction to the series. While I think you should always just start from the beginning, I do think that anything from Part 1-5 can still be enjoyed to a degree on their own, and can still be a good gateway to the series. Part 6 though is just so heavily based on the legacy of the series as a whole.
Never read the manga but Juju was definitely a pleasant surprise for me. I went into it expecting some dumb battle anime and got a very good battle anime.

I love jujutsu! I'm all caught up and excited for the movie, but holy fuck the fans are some full on reta*ds.
I went to a server out of curiosity and the way some of these fans woobify Gojo are insane. The man has an actual god complex but they keep saying he doesn't and he isn't cocky etc.

Was very surprised JJK didn't do the shounen think where it dips in the middle then ends up luke warm, everything keeps goin BAM BAM BAM and I'm really into how refreshing it is so when we do get a rest chapter it feels worth it tbh.

They'll probably explain it next week but basically Eris went full retard and it's going to have lasting repercussions on the poor guy for a while.

What the fuck does he expect Oda to do?

Wouldn't know about the fans, I avoid anime fandoms in general since best case scenario you just have some black guys arguing about who would win in a fight between X &Y.

What I'm really enjoying is it's keeping Secunda back and he's not coming out every episode and there are clearly going to be repercussions for the times he has gotten out. He's not just some rage monster and he's clearly plotting something. I'm super optimistic to see where it goes.

TF? He's very cocky, he just lovable enough to not feel like a hard cunt cause of it. He's just a corny homie you have with his own sort of wise sage knowledge for our MC due to his world being what it is, & him being the strongest in it.

That said, I don't think it's a full blown god complex & more of him just being so OP that he's smug & proud about it. Hell, he technically is a god of Jujutsu world, he can overtake Gakuganji (guitar grandpa) anytime, he even admits that he wants to at times, but only cause Gakuganji is a fucking cunt (manga readers know this even more so).

Yup. Gojo is just incredibly arrogant due to how powerful he knows he is. And he is right.

Literally every curse spirit hides in fear from him and he keeps the balance in favor of the sorcerers and humanity.

If he goes missing? Most likely humanity and sorcerers are screwed.

Which is why that is the main goal for that Curse group. Get rid of Gojo and or awaken a full power Sukuna. Who could challenge Gojo.

Just want to point that after almost a couple of years, the third volume of the Gambling Apocalypse Kaiji omnibus is officially out today, but it’s temporarily out of stock on Amazon.

You can actually get it on Barnes and Noble for $21.95, but you can also get it on RightStufAnime here for $16.46:

There is not a lot of information. Yasugi was 49 years old, lived alone, and apparently he was barely getting any work because of circumstances having to do with the COVID pandemic. Police were alerted to a problem on the morning of Sunday, December 12, when a neighbor called. Yasugi was already dead, and while nothing is confirmed until the investigation is over, the police think it might be suicide.

Was initially going to put this in the RIP Thread, but not enough news came out during this sudden death out of the blue. Yasugi reportedly wrote Paradise as a script for a science fiction movie.

Went to see one of the Macross Plus screenings with my brother, and while we both enjoyed it I was a little underwhelmed.
I watched and enjoyed the OVA series well enough a few years ago but the movie felt like a slight downgrade. Could be because I'm remembering the OVA through rose tinted glasses, or maybe it was because we where a bit late and missed the first 6-7 minuets of the film, but I think the biggest reason might be because I went in thinking it be like the other macross movies I've watched where they almost retell the story in some way and this just fell like a 2 hour recap of a 2.5 hour series.
Still enjoyed it though as well as my brother, although he's not a mecha guy and I don't think the movie will be enough to check out any other macross entry.

I remember the Eureka Seven series, where the conflict with the Coralians, an alien species with the power to bend the laws of physics, is taken as a kind of Aesop for acceptance.

There's a problem with this Aesop, though, because in the end I would much rather deal with Coralians than with niggers. The Coralians could actually be useful and be reasoned with, and produced cute, ultra-loyal waifus, whereas niggers are just niggers.

This whole thing is cringe. I'm getting Jason Griffith as Sonic tard rage vibes

Oh and there's his ED arc next season if it gets adapted

Not that it matters. I haven't watched either series, but I know that the sequel series, AO, reveals that Human-Coralian hybrids can't live on Earth for a really dumb reason. Which kinda defeats the purpose of the original message.
