Said two characters also created a fuckton of newfags who are probably new to anime and were oblivious to the hype as well as creating an obnoxious beauty lolcow and tard-rangling consoomers without a fraction of the knowledge of the medium. At this point I feel the same with another kiwi arguing with a newfag, you took a year to have the same number of reactions in 2 years compared to mine and your opinions and statements are so milquetoast that it is so hard to convince you otherwise, not to mention many of the users hate it here in the thread. Please, Usagi Kou was a lolcow before Studio Trigger even existed.

Is there an official kiwifarms anime watch list? I'm starting to want to get into anime again.
I remember a couple hundred pages some users came with a general list of anime they recommended and liked to people.
Azumanga Daioh - CGDCT and nothing more. It's a masterpiece.
Watamote - SOL starring a very socially awkward girl. May or may not change lanes halfway through.
Girls Last Tour - Existential stories starring two potato girls.
Hibike Euphonium - SOL involving band nerds.
Gintama - "It literally gets good after episode 2X" the anime. I love it to bits.
Made in Abyss - My favorite anime in the last decade. The author is a freak and the manga never gets updated.
Shimoneta - 1984 but with dick jokes.
Yu Yu Hakusho - Classic Shounen goodness.
Chio's School Road - A girl walks to school. One of my favorite seasonals in a long time.
Great Teacher Onizuka - Wholesome adventures starring an ex-gangster teacher.
The Promised Neverland - Pretty good show. It's a shame it'll never get a 2nd season.
Keijo!!!!!!!! - Brilliantly shameless.
Gunbuster - Good fuckin mecha anime but it only has 6 episodes. Modern anime still can't replicate its jiggle physics.
Flip Flappers - More like Flip Floppers.
Nanbaka - Had a lot of potential but took a nosedive in quality as soon as it got into something serious.
Magi - Good anime series, better manga (until the ending).
ReLife - Good until that stupid volleyball bitch hijacks the series and crashes it with no survivors.
I Want You To Make a Disgusted Face and Show Me Your Underwear - Did you read the title? (also holy shit they made a sequel what the fuck lol)

Once I start, it's hard to stop.

I thought The Promised Neverland did get a second season. It's a shame how rushed the ending was. Classic example of anime not being able to wrap up the plot well.

Is Kodomo no Jikan acceptable to recommend? Once you get over the pedobait, the story is nice and emotional. And you understand why the girl is so clingy to the teacher. Not in a "You have to have this much IQ to understand Rick and Morty"-way, even though it feels like it.
I thought The Promised Neverland did get a second season.
It got it, but it was such a bad season. It would've been better if it were never made.

Oh crap, I forgot that it was the 40th anniversary of the premiere of the anime version of Rumiko Takahashi's Urusei Yatsura (a.k.a. Lum/Ramu/Those Obnoxious Aliens) on Thursday, October 14th.

Happy 40th anniversary!

Jesus, I didn't think it was that old.

Hell, I totally forgot the manga itself debuted in the 70s. The 70s!

The tail end of the 70s, but still...

The Promised Neverland - READ THE MANGA

Speaking of "READ THE MANGA", I like the WataMote anime but the longer it goes without a season 2, the more I'd recommend reading the manga (released as No Matter How I Look At It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular! in English) since, at this point, the entirety of what's in the WataMote anime really only feels like a prologue to the rest of the story, which only really shifts into high gear during the "Kyoto Field Trip" arc.

You don't even really get to meet pre-Kyoto arc characters like Kotomi Komiyama (seen only for a few seconds in the never-officially-released-in-the-west prequel OVA) or Hina Nemoto (who appears in the anime as a unnamed classmate but she doesn't really start trying to befriend Tomoko until the as of now unanimated second year) before the anime ends only halfway through Tomoko's first year in high school.

I honestly hope there never is a Season 2, because Watamote's popularity in Japan right now is apparently due to lesbian-baiting antics instead of the cringe comedy that the manga started off with, so I'd expect a second season to rush through the Kyoto/Second Year stories (which are the manga's peak in quality imo) to get to the crappy coming-of-age ensemble (to the point where there are chapters where Tomoko doesn't appear at all) yuribait garbage the manga has devolved into.

This show can go from depressing to wholesome pretty quick. Though I guess it can get depressing again if you remember that considering the time period the great kanto earthquake is coming.

Between this and Ranma 1/2, it almost seemed like I witnessed a time capsule as to how fictional female characters looked back in the late 70’s and 80’s
