Watched/read some shit lately

Oh damn I expected this to be some kind of karma series but no he's just an asshole. He's very obviously a crook and that should be obvious from talking to him in a seedy bar, but he's such a good conversationalist that even the viewer starts to trust him a little at first. I loved when he "taught" that guy how to drive. It's almost too negative to watch more than a couple episodes at a time but that's just fine. He seems to do the "humiliate a horny salaryman" thing too often but I'm not that far in yet, I'm sure he varies up his marks later.
One of the things I find interesting is that in most cases the characters downfall are all caused by their own selfishness or disregard of very simple warnings that Moguro gives them. It's likely he knowingly picks people that aren't going to follow through or are sure to self-destruct, but I like that some blame for the outcome is on the people making the deals since a lot of them are terrible people themselves. They'll blame everything else for their failings or lack of happiness and believe that if their wish was granted it'd all work out, zero thought put into how maybe how they behave is causing their problems. You also have the stories where he 'grants' their wish only for them to find out that it wasn't what they really wanted or that it wasn't as good as they thought it would be.

Would definitely recommend taking the series slow, couple episodes here or there rather than trying to marathon it.
Is there an official kiwifarms anime watch list? I'm starting to want to get into anime again.
Somewhat hard to do given any lists given in thread will get lost as conversation progresses, there isn't really a static place with everything listed. It's pretty easy to just look up the top shows, but for more personal recommendations or genre deep-cuts it'd require knowing what you actually like.

This show can go from depressing to wholesome pretty quick. Though I guess it can get depressing again if you remember that considering the time period the great kanto earthquake is coming.
Kanto Earthquake is a plot point, one of the characters gets caught in it. Never read past the initial reveal of it happening because I think there was a gap in chapters coming out and I forgot about it.
Might re-read the manga since I did enjoy it.

The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window is an interesting story but the anime sucks. Even without reading it beforehand, it was clear they skipped chapters and the character designs aren't doing any favors. Got around to reading it and it was much better, though I do find it fun how much they made the blonde lead seem more like a psycho in the anime.
I guess it works as an ad since it got me to read it, but its pretty unfortunate.

Yo, what's the deal with this one that it's got an abysmal score this early? Does it shit on the manga or something?

I thought The Promised Neverland did get a second season. It's a shame how rushed the ending was. Classic example of anime not being able to wrap up the plot well.
The issue with the Promised Neverland's second season is that it tries to be anime original and becomes completely retarded to then go back to the manga

And said manga is really bad.

Not really and tbh watch lists are kinda cringe. Sure individual recommendations are fine but when someone gives you a list of shows to watch, your lucky if you end up liking half of them.
That being said I have toyed with the idea of trying to make a "how to search shit" guide for some friends because I'm sick of them asking if [enter show here] is worth watching and being able to find something yourself is a good skill to have. It's nothing solid but I do have some points that got a few of them to watch shows I never expected a them to show interest in.

Finished the Mars arc of Terraformars and holy shit does it start suffering from serious GoT syndrome near the end. It goes from this futile fight against nearly indestructible nigroaches with characters dying left and right, to the main characters surviving completely absurd scenarios where they by all rights should be fucking dead and only survived because the plot demanded it. It also gets kinda hard tracking all the characters, their abilities, their allegiances and where they actually are, even with the occasional panel literally mapping out where everyone is and what they’re up to.

I think the beginning is pretty solid and I actually liked the ending too once it’s revealed that the Newton family masterminded everything, but there’s a long stretch between like volumes 10-15 where things just got really fucking stupid.

I remember reading about 3/4 of the manga and losing interest once I found out the author had returned from a health related hiatus 3 years ago, done a few novels, then promptly returned to said health related hiatus. I sympathize with the guy if he isn't able to publish regularly, but ultimately the series just isn't interesting enough to wait years for a new chapter. Too edgy for its own good.

Cardcaptor Sakura anime....good? I'm familiar with some of the things that happen like the gay couple and the incredibly inappropriate teacher students relationships....

I come more from Pokemon and Sailor Moon especially so its kind of jarring because they look so young...they're in grade school?

Weirdly I remember advertisements for the plushies...there was a Chinese girl named like mei Ling mai ling??

The cards is it like yugioh with actual stuff like the cards becoming characters/monsters etc?

Very, one of my childhood favorites. Most people will say stick to the sub, but I grew up with the Ocean dub distributed through Nelvana. Kids' WB fucked with the episode order, and people hate on the dub, but I think it's a fair dub for its day, and they at least got actual kids voicing Sakura and Li. And Matt Hill as Kero is hilarious ngl.

Touya and Yukito aren't outright stated to be a couple, but there's enough implications that show they're canon. Still isn't in your face about it, though, like even in the dub, if you squint you can kinda see it (and Touya's bi, anyway). The teacher-student relationships remain except for the one between Rita and her homeroom teacher, they luckily removed that. The other relationships remain intact, though the dub tried to remove that, especially between Sakura's parents by stating they were peers and that he wasn't that much older than her.

Yeah, Sakura's 10 or 11 at the start of the series.

Meiling, and she's anime-only. Still pretty good for an anime-only character.

They're magical cards, and they have true forms Sakura has to confirm before sealing. Some of them can be monstrous in nature, some of them are more benevolent than others, and even a few of them have personalities. The anime has 52 Clow Cards (you don't get to see all of them get captured, still pisses me off we'll never see The Libra in action or how Sakura came across it), but the manga has 19 named ones. Honestly prefer the full 52 deck.

It's a very sweet, innocent series in general, you have to be a cold, callous person to walk away from it without feeling the fuzzies.

Been watching Jojo part 5.

So far, I'm enjoying it more than part 4. I've also kinda grown to like the slightly more streamlined art style. And the theme song as well as Giorno's theme are freaking amazing.

Mob Psycho confirms for season 3.

While, Zombieland Saga will have a movie instead, weird PV. I wish I could understand moonrune.
Unfortunately, neither has official release date.
Bonus, ZLS gaiden (legendary Yamada Tae) manga feat Lily's dad and mom.

That is chapter 6, will be released in Nov. However, first five translated chapters are now available on mangadex.

This is so cynical but id be lying if I said I wouldn't be buying it.
