Like others have pointed out. Disney has tried somewhat to get into distributing anime before. It has always just blown up in their face and failed tho.

I suspect this time will be no different. As it really seems like they just grabbed whatever anime’s they could get without looking into them too much.
I wonder if they still have that sword Miyazaki sent when they tried to make princess mononoke more family friendly.

So I had a random Boruto clip come across my recommendations with Naruto is some new form(turns out it’s like a bijuu mode for specifically taijustu) which leads me to find out that later that episode or the next Kurama sacrifices himself so Naruto won’t die and Naruto is now depowered and without a bijou in him.

Then those two were supplanted by the abomination known as Franxx. Goes to show that the anime industry hasn't changed even in 10 years when it comes to trainwrecks and awful stories.
Eh, I didn't think Franxx was that bad, even if it did go off the rails by the end. If anything, it was better than GC and VVV, at least imo, if only due to the two leads pretty much carrying the whole thing on their backs, even during the low points.

There's a reason that, unlike the other two, people are still asking for it to have a second season.

Komi sounds like the start of a /pol thread

Nothing but the letter "N" being spammed everywhere.

I swear to god, this is gonna be Interspecies Reviewers all over again.
At least that did wind up resolving itself with companies cutting deals and joint releasing the stuff under their adults only label.

You mad?

Seriously though, I at least found the main two characters of Franxx to be enough for me to power through even the low points of the show, and at the risk of appearing like an idiot, wouldn't mind seeing them do another season or even just a compilation film or OVA to redeem the series. Because it is so close to being good, only to fall apart at the end, which disappoints me immensely.

Said two characters also created a fuckton of newfags who are probably new to anime and were oblivious to the hype as well as creating an obnoxious beauty lolcow and tard-rangling consoomers without a fraction of the knowledge of the medium. At this point I feel the same with another kiwi arguing with a newfag, you took a year to have the same number of reactions in 2 years compared to mine and your opinions and statements are so milquetoast that it is so hard to convince you otherwise, not to mention many of the users hate it here in the thread. Can't say anything about Guilty Crown, but Valvrave in my opinion is better than Franxx in that it stayed entertaining and 'true' to its roots as a batshit crazy Sunrise original that people still yearn for every time a new Sunrise original is announced. I would never rewatch Franxx because of how frustrating I found its lack of care towards the story, but Valvrave I can see myself rewatching whenever I need a good time.

Also the opening for Valvrave beats anything from Franxx out of the water by the sheer fact that it's a T.M.Revolution x Nana Mizuki collab.
What receives a high ranking from me is entertainment and not a shows potential to be good, more often than not if I find a show isn't living up to the potential I feel it has all it does is frustrate me which tanks its rating. That's why Valvrave sits up there in my 10/10 shows (same with Cross Ange and SamFlam) along with more 'normal' 10/10 series while Franxx is sitting at like a 4/10 (it was at 5/10 but having to think about it again brought it further down). Most things that far down on my list are out of anger at the wasted potential.

The reason no one was asking for more from Valvrave is because season 1 was perfect in it's clusterfuck, that's also why no one cares about the awful second season. Didn't watch it myself because the first season ended perfect for me. Guilty Crown there isn't really much they could do for a second season based on what I've heard of the ending (haven't watched it personally) unless they followed a new cast.

Darling on the other hand doesn't need a second season, but an entire rewrite that makes the final half non-canon. Second season wouldn't to anything to salvage it.

I would have just said to ditch Franxx because other shows fulfill the same premise but with better results. Gridman is the perfect example. People like LightDragonman are too much of a bitch to admit that what they are trying so hard to salvage is DOA, if anything, it shows how much the person is too much into Sunk-Cost.

It's pretty clear he's a redditor, the one that probably browses shit like /r/DarlingInTheFranxx from time to time.

You implying that I didn't watch it as it was going on? And so what if I'm an oddball in terms of liking it in this thread? It is perfectly fine for you to dislike the show, and I get why you and so many others don't care for it. Heck, if other people are brought into anime thanks to the main duo, so be it. Best to just try and either educate them on what they are getting into, or just ignore them completely.

I actually too find Valvrave a really entertaining show, but I feel that it dipped in quality immensely in its second season. It's a good thing you haven't watched it, because it pretty much ignores all the things that made its first season such a joy to watch, along with sidelining a lot of its cast (especially Saki, who I find to actually be one of Sunrise's best heroines).

Believe it or not, I actually find Franxx more rewatchable, because it at least contains, even in its messy second half, elements that I still find entertaining, that being the relationship between Hiro and Zero Two. Valvrave, as mentioned above, pretty much sidelines so many of the good things I liked about it in the second season that I can't find much enjoyment in rewatching it.

I get it, and I fully understand why you would rank them that way. Honestly, Franxx pretty much peaked at episode 15, which is also when it was clear they had finished up everything they had planned out. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if it was originally planned to be a split cour, only for that to not happen, because there's a huge difference between the first 15 episodes, where everything is expertly paced and tightly written with tons of foreshadowing and rewatch bonuses, and the last few episodes, where they writers were pretty much winging it. Even so, the glimpses of what made the first half work are still there, if muddled, in even the low points, so I can't get too angry at it. Just my thoughts though.

The reason no one was asking for more from Valvrave is because season 1 was perfect in it's clusterfuck, that's also why no one cares about the awful second season. Well if they do some sort of OVA for Franxx that redoes the second half to be more in line with, say, the manga adaptation of it, that could work out well. Said manga does do a lot to fix the messiness of the final half after all. And even barring that, you could do something with the reincarnations of Hiro and Zero Two slowly regaining their memories of their past lives and finally deciding to see the world and take down the villains once and for all.

Also, in the case of Valvrave, I wouldn't mind seeing more of that show too, as I think it has tons of potential in its universe (plus, getting to see Saki again would be nice).

I hardly browse that subreddit at all. You also really seem to hate the show and its fans a whole lot. Like I mentioned, I acknowledge that it is heavily flawed, and can understand why you and others dislike it. But that doesn't mean that I can't see at least a few things to enjoy from it, even if you don't view them as such.

Now, that's a top-tier opening! Good shit, dude.

If we're talking about mecha, then I recommend Getter Robo or Gurren Lagann. Now, that's the stuff!

Fine, my tastes are trash, and you are 100% right about everything regarding the show and I am a stupid manchild for still finding it enjoyable. I was an idiot for ever getting into it in the first place, and see how foolish I was. It is truly a trash tier show, and I have gone from liking it to hating it.

Happy now?
