The scanlator decided to stop scanlating the Beautiful Place by Matsumoto Jiro after Chapter 2 because they can't handle the nudity in it:

So, I looked into it... and it was just people in their birthday suit being tortured. Nudity's the least of their problems in this setting.

At least, they weren't young children, but they should've been aware that's what the author mostly does:

Fuckers. Nobody would flinch to that 20 years ago.

Bros, I've been watching nothing but 80's and 90's standalone OVA's for the past few weeks, and I have to ask: what happened? Cyber City Oedo 808, Gunsmith Cats, Patlabor, are the ones I've watched so far, currently working on Doomed Megalopolis in spirit of Halloween. I miss truly badass and well animated anime like these. Or maybe I'm just getting old and I'm just not seeing the appeal in anything modern. Other than Golden Kamuy, I'm not really partaking in anything current, and even then, I read the manga for Kamuy rather than watch the anime.

Aside from the sometimes unfortunate visual redesign Bastard!! does a pretty good job of recreating the OVA with a lot more room for the story to breathe... not that there is much story, it's pretty much just enough to tie "asshole wizard from a 70s dark fantasy novel /metal album cover" aesthetic together but it's fun. It's definitely anachronistic in 2022.

Have you seen Redline?

Have you seen Redline?
I've actually been meaning to watch it. It looked right up my alley, so downloaded it a while back. Got it sitting on a HD right now, and now that I got a Plex server up and running, I can go and watch it on my big TV. I think I know what I'm doing with my Saturday night now, thanks!

I wonder how he would've reacted to Dead Tube and Satanofani, where rape (attempted or otherwise) and nudity are so prominent you're surprised after reading chapters where there is none.

Speaking of, I love over-the-top, edgy shit in comparison to the generic shounen or seinen you run into. Crazy concepts and plots you'd never see in the west or anywhere really. Quality often varies, but they're entertaining nonetheless.

1. Scanlation is the most thankless job in the universe. Manga readers are worse than niggers or Ukrainians. Scanlators don't owe anyone shit.
2. These two translated chapters will bring attention to the series and make it more likely for another group to take up the project. Death Toll operates like this internally.

tl;dr don't be a mykola.

Sure, but did anybody ask? I'm just calling them out for being gay.

They're probably Muslim.

So are there any proper Zombieland Saga subs by any chance, or do they all still refer to Lily as a she or other shit?

-Baoh the Visitor
-Ruin Explorers
-Dragon Century
-Blue Seed (a series, not an OVA, but still worth looking into)
