Not really anime or manga but its close enough and it is kinda of interesting (plus there isn't a LN thread to my knowledge)

The article doesn't mention what series it was, but the reason why he got suspended is because japan doesn't allow government employees to have a separate part-time job.
There is a loop hole where they can do writing jobs so long as it doesn't interfere with their work, but apparently he was using sick leave to write the novels which counts as interfering.

I more curious to what the LNs in question was, its probably trash but the fact that it might of derailed someone's entire career path make me want to read it.

Anyone ever seen Kamikaze Girls? I liked Anna Tsuchiya in Sakuran, so I was thinking of picking this one up

Nichijou is absurdist comedy (and adapted of a regular manga) while Azumanga is almost a sitcom (and adapted from a 4koma). Nichijou is well worth a watch (Yuuko's VA alone elevates the work) but dont expect the same kind of show.
 
Occultic;Nine is an unironic masterpiece. It's a shame though that the author may (seemingly at least, I mean it's been 4 years already) never complete the original light novel.

The only thing I remember from the anime is that there was a girl with massive boobs, does anyone recommend the VN?

The VN has the same plot of the anime, more or less from what I heard. I don't really recommend it though since it never got an official translation and it kinda seems like a tough nut to crack to even unofficially translate it (I think it was released console only).

Ideally, if it was translated into English it would probably be better than the anime since you get to see the POV of characters besides Yuta and it fleshes them out more as a result.

I liked it but I feel like the point could have gotten across better by showing her fail at and be treated poorly during mundane social interactions or basic activities that are easy for most people instead of her literally just getting beat by her boyfriend for being autistic. Like you can show me sad shit to get a point across and even if I don't enjoy it, I'll at least understand but domestic abuse seemed like the wrong sad shit for this story since anyone can get into an abusive relationship but the specific issues that come with being an autist/ADD/ADHD were only mentioned but not really explored in any serious way. Like, yeah she was being abused for her mental shit but abusive people will find any excuse they can to act like that.

Also, you totally found that while looking for hentai.

It's a surreal style comedy series that has enough jokes packed into each episode that even if some don't make you laugh others will. Makes good use of just silence to convey humor rather than loud noises, like in this scene:

It personally isn't my favorite in the genre, but said genre has some strong competition to me, even then I'd still recommend it as a great comedy if you're into that style. I know some people just don't get or really like absurdist/surrealist comedy and end up dislike shows that make great use of it.

its got that 2000s japanese indie vibe. i liked it. the story's fun. bosozuku is fun.

Yeah, in fact, if it hadn't been mentioned she has Asperger's, I never would've guessed she's an Aspie. I know it's a one-shot and the mangaka couldn't put in more things about this girl, but she needed to be in more scenarios where her Asperger's would've kicked in and shown her awkwardness. Like why not see what her workplace is like and how she handles it awkwardly to the point her boyfriend steps in to "save the day" instead of a throwaway line about it? And then the whole thing by the time she confronted her bestie kinda reeks with self-validation since everything just falls neatly into her lap while she does literally nothing.

That one webcomic about the Aspie mangaka's childhood was much, much better at showcasing actual Asperger's than this one-shot ever did (but I don't remember the name of it, fuck). I may still check out that series about an Aspie girl being a manga assistant, though.

My own introduction to the series. It validates everything.

In other news, I recently came across Mousou Telepathy, an interesting 4 panel serial from NOBEL that was released in the last 5 years. 718 pages in total split in 7 volumes, the series is about Ayako Nakano, an awkward high school senior who happens to be a telepath. Her biggest issue is that she can't turn it off, neither the voices in people's heads nor their mental images, leading to her awkwardness issues increasing as she's forced to sit behind Hayato Toda, the most popular kid in her class - who may be quiet and cool, but deep inside is also extremely in love with her, to the point where she has to deal with his very loud thoughts whenever they deal with her as well as his fantasies aimed towards her.

The series is pretty good. My mistake was looking for more information in the meantime - namely, the fanbase is frustratingly dumb, the kind to focus on shipping and declaring Toda persona non-grata because of his fantasies despite the reasons behind the imagery, not to mention people going all 'this series is disgusting' even though it really doesn't focus on the kind of perversion you'd think this kind of series might have.

Anyway, I suggest reading this series. It was a pretty good read, and reminded me of Asper Kanojo's whole 'it's hard for people to interact when they have a serious problem', which the cast generally has to some degree or another.
