I've just gotten into Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-San (Skilled Teaser Takagi)

Jesus Christ these two are precious.

After my trip there this evening, I can safely conclude that there is no single thing on the planet more autistic than the manga section of Barnes and Noble on a Saturday night.

Holy shit, those still exist?

I have one near me that I still go to from time to time. Their manga section's a bit varied, though I wish I could say the same for the anime DVDs. I was lucky I even found the original Ghost in the Shell movie there, it's so limited.

Holy shit, those still exist?

Barely.

I've been going to various locations pretty frequently now that I'm working eleven hour days, six days a week. It's something that gets me out of the house and slightly eases the pain of wage slavery.

The selection is universally shit. For popular series, they are always out of stock of early and recent volumes, which serves nobody. And when you do find something, it's more often than not in what tantamounts to used condition because the employees refuse to do anything about the obese thirteen-year-olds who treat the place like a library.

The place is technically a good deal, because most stores have a buy two, get one free deal, but it's worthless because you rarely find three things worth buying.

EDIT: They've apparently gotten rid of the three for two deal, which completely negates any reason to ever go there. Which is bullshit because it's still applicable on Western graphic novels. Fuck Barnes and Noble.

Pretty much, I remember the days when I was seeing those kids laying all over the section Borders had their graphic novels at.

Fucking this, weebs are such assholes.

am i wrong in assuming that a lot of anime is just loli trash
no, not really. Especially these days, where creativity is limited really to either high school shows, loli-based shows and shows where the protagonist dies and ends up in a fantasy world.

Damn, you must have some of the shittiest B&Ns I have heard of. Both of the ones near me have the latest stuff in stock, in generally excellent condition, and I'm almost always the only one in the manga section.

That's how mine is. I'm just glad they have something at all even if it feels like I'm the only person ever interested in it. They're really the only bookstore I have left around here (retail anyway). I miss a local shop I used to go to before Borders bought them out.

Hey, they got Heidi and Anne of Green Gables as well...
Nothing but classics!

Incidentally, someone out there uploaded an English dub of Anne of Green Gables. Interesting that one managed to get a dub (apparently done in South Africa).
