Have you tried Happy Home Designer? There's no town hall or museum to edit, but it does have a school, hospital, office building, small restaurant, big restaurant, two small shops, a big store, a hotel, and a music hall that can be customized inside and out. And you can create all the villager homes (yards included) your heart desires. I've found it to be a lot of fun.

I have, thank you for pointing it out though! I really enjoyed it, but I was sad that a lot of characters were unlocked by the cards. :( I bought a few packs here and there, but at the time they were a pain in the ass to find. I think I found maybe 2 or 3 packs in my city, and after that I had to go online. (Where they were still usually sold out.)

We can all agree that the ugliest villager of them all is Chico.

I can't say I noticed that there were a lot of characters only unlocked by the cards. I know that the non-villager characters are, but personally that wasn't a big deal to me. I was much more interested in making houses for Bangle and Rosie, and my other favorite villagers. The thing I would've liked to have seen is mannequins, to show off clothes more effectively in two of my stores. I hope that ceiling furniture returns in the next installment, they add a really nice touch to houses and buildings.

I never played the GameCube version or City Folk, but I played the shit out of Wild World and so did my sister - it’s the closest she’s ever come to being a gamer. I played New Leaf a bit too, but I didn’t get into it the same way I did with Wild World. I’m super excited to learn there’s a Switch game on the way - I’ll definitely give that a look.
I named my first village "Buttland" and I really wish that the game had a rename town option.
My brother got hold of my game before I played it and named my village “tertlevi”. He tried to call it Turtleville, but it wouldn’t fit. I actually quite liked the name so I called my town in New Leaf the same thing.

I always wanted Marshal, he looked amazing. Had so many villagers move in and out to get him, the cute ones by accident from not playing. Lolly was one such casualty and I was so insanely upset she left that I haven't really had the interest in playing much since.

Lily was great, Ruby, Cookie, Static (he was mah boi in wild world and left like a week after I got him in NL :'( rip).

I regret being so picky and I miss my bff.
