i'm so so sorry but the point is still there had it been the nostalgia critics demo reel or involved him his fans would have defended it like they are defended the Jurassic park review

Dude, NC is shit. Get over it.

EDIT: and don't delete your messages. lol

@abilence oh im not trying to defend him but im not sure if his fan hated demo reel because it was shit or because it wasn't the NC but that is just my option

Lol learn to quote.

I'd like to add to Abilene's sentiment by asking that you also learn how to use punctuation.

By the way, there's no use in deleting your posts if they've already been saved as quotes in our posts.

And that doesn't work, as far as I know. Lol ratings. Anyway, let's go back to the thread and stop messing around.

Yes, let's.

Since we're on the topic of Demo Reel, I finally decided to watch it for the first time after people kept comparing the Jurassic Worlds review to Demo Reel. I was once intent on avoiding it for life but since I've already been allegedly exposed said radiation poisoning, I may as well.

Seven minutes in and it's already unwatchably bad. It feels like they took both Tim and Eric's Awesome Show and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia and drugged the two into making a lovechild on camera. Every joke either comes across as sorely bitter or that they compromised on certain jokes by meeting in the middle somehow. I get a feeling a lot of writer's fights happened on set.

What's even the point?

EDIT: I know why, it's because of the dumb ratings he received, he erased those messages to clear his record. He still has 24 dumb ratings, though. I don't think he's quite done.

That almost tempts one to go rate all his other posts dumb too. Not enough of a :ween: to do that, but Jesus.

Different scenarios. Doug had been hyping up Demo Reel for months, saying about how it was going to be the bestest web show EVAR and would make people forget all about the Nostalgia Critic. The fans would likely have reacted badly even if it had just turned out to be average and forgettable, so the fact that it turned out to be total, irredeemable shit only made things ten times worse.

This "Jurassic World" review will likely turn out more akin to "Let's Play Bart's Nightmare" - some fans will chimp out and accuse Doug of having gone to shit, others will chimp out in an equal and opposite manner while defending him, but the vast majority of viewers will likely just say "Eh, he tried something new, didn't work, not worth making a big deal about."

Dear God, I only made it in five minutes. I'd heard stories about how bad it was, but even I wasn't prepared. Christ that was painful.

Just sat through the whole thing. It was retarded.

Doug Walker lied when he said that he was putting an end to the Nostalgia Critic because the whole show is just dedicated toward criticizing movies by either having characters react to the plot of the movie they're remaking or demonstrating how they could've been done "better". Doug literally cannot write anything that isn't a movie review.

I'm halfway through the Blair Witch one and it's much better, mostly because they're not trying to smother you with their enhanced Diet Coke version of a movie while painfully taking every opportunity to criticize the real version. The lack of really retarded jokes helps too.

I think the first episode gave me cancer.

I may just be reading what he's writing wrong but I gotta say I'm in agreement with Geekboy. Keep in mind I'm not saying Demo Reel isn't shit. But if it were more associated with NC or ran as some kind of spin off some more goobers would defend it than it was.

Same way that there were fans of Sonic that defend everything Sonic. It's some retarded ass reasoning but I wouldn't be surprised if NC attracted a similar audience.

The thing is, that even with the NC, Doug has made things involving him that tank like a fucking rock to his audience. The best example was the one time he tried doing an LP. So nahh, even if the NC was a part of the series, I'd reckon the majority of fans would still deem Demo Reel shit so long as it kept the same scripts and skits. The margin would be smaller, but I'd still predict a majority.

Just imagine if you watched the sketch of Bane at Arby's! /Vietnam Style Flashback
Or even better, that stupid song number. My god was that a hard sit. They can't rap for shit and butchered the base line from The Fresh Prince (hell, the bit with Joker's just that, a shitty Fresh prince reference).

Also, Doug can't do a good Bane voice to save his life.

I thought everyone hated his Bart's Nightmare review.

Here's a few things to acknowledge when you attempt to add a story to your review show:

1) Is it light-hearted enough ala RLM to prevent any sort of laughable cliffhangers or climaxes to occur?

2) Do you actually have a decent reason to tie the episodes together? (Such as a series of movies?)

3) Will it take up a large amount of the episode's running time? If so, DON'T DO IT.

Or in other words, just make the story separate and not include it in your review show.
