He "criticized" Hollywood (not a specific company or person, just Hollywood) for "making themselves look desperate & unprofessional" by removing illegally published copies of their content [his reviews] from Youtube
See, using clips from a movie isn't actually illegal, since it's (theoretically) covered under fair use law. The law, to the best of my knowledge, doesn't give any sort of limit on exactly what percentage of a work you can use, and I doubt the studios give enough of a crap to actually try prosecuting anyone over this sort of thing.
That said, Doug still makes himself look like a tool. For one thing, he's started reviewing a lot more movies from the last few years; what the hell did he
think was gonna happen when he uploaded 20+ minutes of clips from them to YouTube? For another, if fair use applies, so does "My house, my rules." And YouTube's stance on that has always been that a copyright holder can request a DMCA takedown for any reason, fair use doesn't enter into it as far as they're concerned.
In fact, Angry Joe of all people has actually handled the matter a lot better, since he's at least acknowledged that 95% of copyright claims are done automatically by YouTube's servers, and that the developers who do go DMCA-crazy are usually either old-fashioned Japanese dudes, or dishonest fucks who just want to stop their shitty, broken games from being reviewed.
On another note, at least we know now what Demo Reel would have been like with Tamara instead of Rachel. Better... but not by a whole lot.
