Does BlackBusterCritic do anything anymore? I forgot all about him but used to really like his Sonic-related loser videos.

Yeah, calling out the dickish business methods of companies like Microsoft and EA. They're not as entertaining as when he's making fun/an example of some internet moron (Like LIAT or the Sonictards).

I still watch Zero Punctuation, because although it still relies on the "vulgarity = instant humor" bit and Yahtzee is a self-important hipster douchebag, he at least makes an effort to actually review games and actually points out the mechanics if they're good (and if they're bad, what's wrong with them), and isn't splutteringly ignorant on the topics he does (like AVGN's Dark Castle review, not realizing it's just a crappy port; or Doug's Pokémon The First Movie review, when it was clear he had no real grounding in the franchise). And despite Yahtzee being a self-important hipster douchebag (or at least playing up the part), he isn't worthy of a punch to the face like Doug and many others are.

I really enjoy Brad Jones/The Cinema Snob. I can enjoy Nostalgia Critic, but often he gets a bit irritating. I really liked Spoony before he went over the high-side.

Right, well that's like your opinion. Seriously though, in terms of bold, I agree though in my case I'd say he's more of "meh" to some nowadays. His rage can be irritating since it could devolve into being a gimmick of the character.

I think you may be a little late for that last part, but I agree with you about the "meh" thing, though

Yeah. Really, last review I saw from him was a month or two back when he did a review on Foodfight. Outside of the segments on the movie, I felt uninterested in whatever skit there was (though I didn't mind him destroying food). Really, at best, their videos are just good to waste and kill time when you got nothing else to do. At worst, their videos aren't all that interesting and may bring boredom or whatever it is.

I hate pretty much all the TGWTG people but Angry Joe & Linkara really just push my agony switch. Angry Joe is massively unfunny in every aspect of a 'review', he can't get basic facts right (Hi, Google), and he's just generally a blundering douche. Linkara is also unfunny but does this thing where he likes, breathes with his mouth and talks with his nose. That may be nonsensical but honestly, Jesus Christ, his fucking nasally mouthbreather voice.

Continuing on

Phelous - I can't stand this guy's voice or style. The sarcasm is always on. I gave his Bootleg Zone a chance, but it was just more of the same.

Lupa - I always found her too fake, similar to Phelous's sarcasm. I dropped her wholesale during the Spoonygate incident, where she went on LordKat's stream to bitch about Spoony. I mean, sure, she can play moral crusader but part of that is holding yourself to a higher standard.

Todd in the Shadows - One Hit Wonderland rocks. Not to into modern pop hits, but check his reviews from time to time.

Blockbuster Buster - Feel he's trying to hard to be cool and emulate the angry reviewer style. While he does touch a lot of stuff I'm more familar with, I don't watch his show.

Film Brain - If something of his gets my attention. What he lacks in style he makes up for in honest critique.

MikeJ - Started with his infomercial stuff, growing to like him more.

Sage - ...at times. I'm not heavily into anime anymore, and what he offers rarely interests me (although Ultimate Teacher and Mad Bull 34 I'm definitely going to watch someday. I may not call myself an otaku anymore, but I guess I should probably see Akira sometime too).

Marzgirl - She stopped producing, I stopped caring.

Jesuotaku - Not really interested in her work.

MasakoX - I've seen some of his reviews based on first episodes of anime and, while there are some that sound interesting, I don't really follow him as I don't watch a lot of anime anymore, specifically not modern anime (The fanservice was getting ridiculous)

I've long been a fan of Doug Walker. His videos rarely fail to make me lol.

I only watch Linkara's side-projects like HOPR cause I'm not a fan of Western comics.

Yahtzee I've only recently discovered. Does he have his own YT channel?

Another one I stopped liking is DeceasedCrab. I dropped him the moment I realized that he's just a passive-aggressive PewDiePie who bans people who don't think like him.

Linkara is just the worst. He is dumb and boring and even then goes after absurdly easy targets. Like, he's working in the medium of comics, the mainstream publishers of which do some of the most retarded stuff imaginable, and instead he goes after black-and-white parody comics from 20 years ago that he found in a bargain bin. This is because he's an intellectual coward and is afraid of having an unpopular opinion, so he goes for the safest targets you could possibly go for. He also thinks burning books is cool, so he can go fuck himself (and yes, I don't care what book).

I like Nostalgia Chick because she actually does an analysis of the work and the context in which it was created. Of all the people working in this genre, with maybe a few outliers, she's the only legitimate critic. The rest are just what I would call "angry summarizers".

Did you bother with his fanfiction theater?

I forgot CR. I like him. He's passionate about what he does, he knows a lot about what he reviews, and he's not reviewing the stuff negatively or criticizing them, he's talking about them, and is engaging. Also, he has a cool jacket.

Does anyone else feel like NC is picking easy targets to ridicule lately?

Todd in the shadows is the most underrated person on TGWTG.

Overall though everyone on TGWTG just comes off as a bunch of wannabes and tryhards. Oh and the "movies" they create when they all get together are fucking shit.

For me...

Nostalgia Critic: He's just not as good as he used to be. I thought he was getting this groove back when he did a review of The Odd Life of Timothy Green, but he didn't.

Angry Joe: His Chick Fill A skit was the only thing I really liked from him. He just tries too hard.

Phelous: It took me a bit to get used to his voice, but I like him. His Bootleg Zone stuff is funny and I like his meta humor.

Obscurous Lupa: I liked her two Sesame Street Christmas reviews, the Karate Dog and TMNT Christmas reviews, but I could care less about her.

Blockbuster Buster: He does his homework, seems to have a love for his subject matter and is willing to say good things about the films he reviews. He's not the best and I usually skip over reviewer skits, but I watch him occasionally. Oddly, I've found that I do some of my better artwork when his skits are on.

Oancitizen: He covers a unique subject matter (art films), is very educated and you can really learn a lot from his reviews. He is also willing to poke fun at himself and his pretentious persona. Some of the films themselves are just too weird to believe.

MikeJ: A good, dry humored guy. The infomercal thing he has been doing is interesting.

Marzgirl: Her voice annoys the hell out of me for some reasons.

Rap Critic: He's got a good head on his shoulders, a nice smile and a good ear for music. Best of all, he works great with other reviewers when he does crossovers. Though even he can't save a Diamonda Haagen review (I just don't like her.)

Linkara: He's at his best when he's attacking the comics that really deserve it and he's had some reviews I really like (the Kool-Aid Man and the Doom comic). Definitely has his major flaws though.

As for a good non-TGWTG reviewer, I suggest Thug Notes. This guy takes on a sterotypical ghetto thug persona, does an overview of classic lit (with pictures) and then does an analysis on the themes. It's pretty genius.

And lurking at the proverbial bottom of the self-appointed online critics' barrel: FanFic Critic, who critiques the "literary" spergings of 15 YO girls and Aspies (including OPL, in a 44-minute -long review of Sonichu). She reminds me of every smug, nerdy, not-nearly-as-bright-or-funny-as-they-think-they-are female who's ever hit on me at a party after a couple of glasses of Liquid Courage.
