Is Doug going to start doing reviews of old Disney movie-to-cartoon series like Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Lilo and Stitch, or is he actually going to avoid pandering that hard despite past experience?

I mean actually watching every episode one at a time and doing blogs on that.

He will not do these. The reason he did vlogs on Adventure Time and Steven Universe is because those cartoons just came out recently and were popular among "quirky" and "not like other girls" geeks and hipsters that make a good part of his audience.
He is a view hog, remember.

And only a minority of viewers still care about the Disney Afternoon animated series enough for episode vlogs. Sad, isn't it?

I actually watched Rogue One last night and I should point out that I am not a Star Wars fan at all. I don't even like the original trilogy and what I saw of part 7 was okay. I actually like Rogue One because it was different from all the rest of the SW flicks.

Most of Doug's review is just nitpicking (as to be expected).

"Why did the pilot defect?" I agree that this character was under-written but by the same token I could ask "Why is Princess Leia a princess? Her mother was a senator and Darth was obviously not a king. Clearly this plot point in a fantasy sci fi series with puppets everywhere doesn't make any sense."

Darth Vader's voice was fine.

The CGI'd Peter Cushing was okay, he looks more like a video game character but A for effort.

I thought the characters were fine and well-defined aside from the pilot. The tone is much darker than the other SW flicks so the character's have to match that tone.

With Disneycember wrapping up, I've come to realize that, for as much as Doug spergs about how great and amazing Disney films are, he regards so many of them--lots of which being classics--as just "okay". He always comes to conclusions on ways to improve them with ideas that are way too complicated or complex to be enjoyed by children. It really does seem that he just likes a select few of them and then bitches about the rest not living up to his standards.

And even then, I feel like he's got some "improvements" for the ones he does like.

yeah, this guy "improving" something.
why is it that 85% of those internet autists can't just look at a kids movie and shrug it off if it was not good?
Like, why even adress Minions e.g. being not a great movie, when it just does what it was meant to do: sell tickets and not suck as much as demo reel.

It's almost like he doesn't have to contend with the filter of nostalgia on some of them.

Despite nostalgia being, you know, his name.

I have gotten back to watching Sailor Moon today (the 90s anime). This reminds me...

Remember when Nostalgia Critic reviewed Sailor Moon?
And missed the point HARD?
And went on a tangent on some bullshit issues?
And even dismissed help from other reviewers who knew it better? (such as Linkara?)
And acted like a conceited cunt when he got negative criticism over it?

not really, as I don't bother with the privat shit of those idiots all that much. but if he got backlash, good. He needs more of that in his life.

I didn't watch the anime at all but even I found the review cringey.

Can you elaborate on the last two parts (help from other reviewers and negative criticism)? Would like to know more.

I have read (TVTropes and other places, so take it with a grain of salt) Linkara offered Doug some help about research on the Sailor Moon stories and characters, but he ignored/rejected it.
Heck, if Doug got some help from JesuOtaku to review the Digimon movie, why wouldn't he do it with Sailor Moon if anime is apparently not his thing? (except Cowboy Bebop)

Doug posted a link to a Sailor Moon fansite that had an article harshly criticizing NC's review. How does he comment on it? He laughs it off, saying "I loves me some hate!!" as if they were trolls beneath content of his grandeur.

By the way, Joey Hollywood manages to please me again.
Here he does a NON-review of the Star Wars Holiday Special, showing how every online reviewer who has made a video of it says the exact same things and make the same jokes:
And more bashing of Chris Stuckmann, for good measure.

Is there someone who can do a summary of the salt surrounding Doug's review of Sailor Moon? I thought people just brushed that crap off, didn't know it let off a shitstorm.

His review literally included him explaining to the viewer how - in another video - he told us Sailor Moon was one of the hottest cartoons and he didn't know she was only fourteen so that makes everything okay he's totally not a pedo you guyssss. So everything's cool now, despite the fact he clearly has never seen the show and somehow feels like he's qualified on the topic enough to create a review on a very, very beloved franchise. Literally no research was done. He actually called Sailor Moon "Speed Racer with tits".

^IIRC all the feminist tumblrinas lovers of Sailor Moon hated his guts for the review he made.

He got an elitist attitude when reviewing Pokemon too, saying that he was in high school when it came out so he totally doesn't understand the big deal. I knew people playing the trading card games by tenth grade and the games, forget it, lots of adults play them nowadays. He fucking compared the show to classic "feel good" kids shows like Care Bears, because it talks about friendship and shit. He criticized the "super sappy" ending to the first movie (when Ash literally gets saved by Pokemon tears), but turns around and calls classic Disney films like Cinderella "masterpieces" even though they too have predictable storylines and fairy tale "sappy" outcomes. He clearly in that instance made that review to piss off people because then lots of subsequent reviews had Pokemon jokes that targeted fans and shat on the series. He knows that a huge chunk of his audience are weebs, so even if he hasn't seen the show and doesn't understand the appeal of the genre, who cares? It's anime so it's a shoo-in for views!

What's even more pathetic about his stance against Pokemon is that he really seems to only do it to go against the mainstream. This year Pokemon has been more popular than ever and he still goes on and on about how "dumb" it is and how much of a "fad" it is and how it'll eventually go away. (all the while basing it entirely on the anime, he doesn't seem to understand the appeal of the games tbh)

You just know he's saying it out of jealousy at this point.

And yeah his double standards when it comes to the overrated things he likes and defends (Transformers, Ninja Turtles, and the five Disney films he likes that make him "totally" a disney expert) is obvious. he can criticize and joke about certain movies but the moment somebody calls Elsa a slut he throws a tantrum.

EDIT: This Disneycember has been pretty boring tbh. I can't recall any funny review or anything memorable that he said. Also, I kinda wished he had tackled Moana and Zootopia just to hear him bashing Trump for another 20 minutes or compare Moana to Frozen (bc you know he will)
