I saw La La Land today. And it dimly occurred to me that another problem I have with these so called critics is their lack of interest in a less-mainstream film catered to a slightly more Oscars-oriented audience. They always review mainstream popcorn flicks or children's cartoons. But when presented with an actual movie for grown adults, they're always silent. How on earth can you call yourself a critic if you don't dip your feet in the water in other areas? Real critics care about movies. All movies. Not just the typical action crowdpleasers or sappy kiddie film.

Take Doug for instance. He's always harping about complex themes that would make a simple child's film or show 10000% better. But since when have you seen him actually explore complex adult themes from something that isn't animated or filled with super heroes or ninja turtles or whatever?

The people who don't go that extra mile (while, of course, doing a good job at it, too!) are the real pretentious, if not, stupid ones. I'd put Cole Smithey here, but he has an edge on Doug FOR going that extra mile - too bad Cole could be a much better critic than he is, himself.

I get what you're saying, however (and it's something everyone needs to do, especially those still on Channel Awesome, for a major example...) - branch out and never stop doing so, or else.

Lindsay seems to want a revolution or something.
Let me guess, she regurgitates the most common, basic complaints about the show like "They're too pretty" or "They're upset over having to pay rent"?

Also, it's Blob Chipman approved:

And of course she goes on to Hamilton's defense and says it's not trying to "alienate" the audience. Suuuure Lindsay.

Seriously her white guilt/virtue signaling is so huge, she'd sooner let a refugee into her house and be at peace with herself.

Now I want to watch it. And end up being pleasantly surprised at how good it is - the show, I mean. Even though I'm sure that won't be the case, unfortunately.

What's not surprising however is that he's just as unoriginal as ever, there wasn't a single episode in the list that hasn't already been beaten to death.
Kinda like Batman & Robin or Star Wars: The Holiday Special?

Good thing no self-respecting online critic nowadays would review these and make the same remarks and jokes that were already done millions of times.
Right?
Right?

Balding Doug said:
"Godfather only had to impress adults. Star Wars had to impress adults and kids."
Doug, please stop with this "I care about children" nonsense. You just come off as creepy and pathetic.

EDIT: I skipped to the part where Doug says he watches kids reacting to "Luke, I am your father." Double what I said about him being creepy and pathetic.
