I know he hated that movie but how the hell did he think this was a good idea to do?

Knowing Doug's feelings about Depp's portrayal as Willy Wonka (he prefers Wilder) it's poor taste.

And he's already pissed some people off--because he insulted Johnny Depp, not because he was tone deaf. And the other half are like "yeah Johnny Depp totally sucks".
For the record, I like both.

Frankly, I'd ask what's worse here, but it's disrespectful no matter how it's sliced.

It's disrespectful to Gene's family (if they were to see it), disrespectful to people who liked Depp's performance (and towards Depp himself) and disrespectful to the mindset of his fanboys and their humor levels. But knowing Doug's behavior, he'll go back on it saying "It's a big misunderstanding, I never meant to harm anyone" even though he's flat out insulting everyone.

Here's the thing, I don't mind offensive, biting humor. It's kind of become my niche. But first of all, timing is important (I'm surprised Doug doesn't get it, after all, "timing" is one of his forced memes and it's the first joke people like Doug would make about comedy "what's the first rule of comedy" "well it--" "timing!") and then there's if it's funny or not. It wasn't funny.
 
Honestly seeing how he picked on Prince and Bowie just after their deaths it's not surprising, making fun of the dead just after they passed seems to be Doug's niche now.

Unless one of his precious actors die (what actor does he like anyway, aside from Scarlett Johansson's ass), somebody does the same thing he does and he'll throw an autistic temper tantrum.
 
Doug's always been a douche when it comes to picking on other people's opinions. He'll say some shit like "if you like it then that's fine" and then totally argue why liking it is stupid and you should feel stupid for doing so. Ever the hypocrite.

Same thing when he said "I quit Nostalgia Critic", only to run back to the character after Demo Reel (rightfully) flopped hard.

Also, gotta wonder what Doug would have to say about this:

Considering he does most of what's on the list on his videos, I'm almost certain he'd try to rally enough people (especially internet reviewers who don't have Patreons) to go against it.
 
Lindsay decides to go on a out of nowhere "Why girls don't like you" rant into the ether. Then someone goes for the baitpost and she eats the hook, and decides to use it to drum up some "people attacked me for my abortion sympathy"

Now if Lindsay had been a milennial I would've believed it. But shes been on the net for as long as I have and knows how things work. Shes prolly been drinking and wants some attention.

From what country is Strider even from? I thought by his accent he'd be British or Australian but he doesn't seem like it...
