Am I the only one that whenever I see anyone of the Channel Awesome crew put together something in the spoof genre, I instantly think to the CA anniversary movies?

There are NO doubts in mind that "Jesus, Bro!" will suck just as bad as all of those CA anniversary joints, even with Brad working on it, honestly.

For me, it really fucking just feels like he's trying to one-up those religious films he beat the crap out of as Cinema Snob!

Yeah, when I first heard about it. I was wondering if Brad was trying to do something like Kevin Smith did with Dogma or was it going to be a spoof of the Christian films that have been popping up lately.

The CA specials are like those movie-movies that came out in the mid 2000s when you think about it. Their whole focus is piling on as many references as they can cram in at once, they're largely directionless and they only revisit the alleged plot every once in a while.

Seeing how Brad is the type of guy that got mad at James Rolf for his ghostbusters video. I doubt he'd ever even think of speaking to TJ.
Brad mentioned several times that the video was a harmless joke, and that he wasn't actually angry at James.

At least the movie-movies weren't 3+ hours long, and Seltzerberg didn't suffer from USI like Doug does.

In other words, these guys.

See, Brad shouldn't attempt to make a comedy, since a bad comedy can never be so bad its funny, it can only suck harder. A more serious movie can accidentally slip into funny or enjoyable to watch due to sheer ineptitude, so when you take the piss out of something and fail, you get unfunny shit. At its worst, you get Hayden Black style anti-humor.

With the Walker brothers seemingly in some form of control over the movie (at least partially), Brad's own relative ineptitude, and the genre at hand, it really isn't too shocking that it ain't getting funded. Doubly so since they're losing relevance and they've just been releasing specials garbage for a while now, making people less willing to give these guys money.

He didn't get mad. He made a parody video poking fun at the reaction James got.

Since TJ used to be a critic, I don't consider explaining this especially off-topic.

Basically, there are two big reasons (other than being quite an abrasive guy) why TJ is disliked online. The first is that he insulted a rape victim on Reddit, telling her to "go drown in a pool of AIDs". Like I said, I enjoy TJ's content more than most people here seem to, but there's no justifying comments like that. I've searched around for another side to that story and can't seem to find one.

The second is that he appeared in a leaked sex tape where, among other things, he boiled his testicles in oil and shoved a banana up his arse. However, a big difference between this happening to TJ as opposed to someone in the SJW crowd is that rather than doubling down and trying to damage control, TJ admitted that it was him in the video and stood by it. He's even made jokes about it subsequently (including using it to own Onision), but there's no denying he's into some fucked up stuff.

It's not just that. He's disliked because he's generally scumbag liar and thief. He stole just under $20K for a kickstarter:

And the guy is into some weird sexual shit like cannibalism.

Yeah no, that wasn't a parody of the reaction. The whole video was him making fun of James by complaining about insignificant changes in the fake Dogfucker remake, then capping the whole thing off by saying that the only thing that could help him take his mind off it was by watching the new Ghostbusters. The script was copied from James' video almost word-for-word, for God's sake. If the video had him talking about how James was "sexist" by nitpicking minor details in his video, then it would've been parody of the reaction. Brad straight up threw James under the bus, there.

Speaking of James, I started watching AVGN episodes on Nico Nico Douga. It's pretty funny to watch a sea of "w"s cover the screen whenever he delivers a punchline. I really wish I knew moonspeak though. I'm interested to know what the NND viewers are saying whenever James starts talking about something like the NES version of Metal Gear or when he's screaming over a good game not getting localized.

Just read the movie's paper thin, one paragraph synopsis:

"When a popular internet atheist (David Gobble) has a near death experience, he returns to Earth to spread the good news of Jesus to all of his devout online followers. But he soon finds out that delivering his new message comes at a cost."

That's actually a logline, and it's a good way of pitching your film. It's concise and gives people a good idea, and it's quick. People don't want to read for a beat by beat summary.

Powerleveling, but I decided to donate, because the idea is funny, and it's Brad's baby--not Doug's. And I think his appearance is damaging the financial backing it could get.

I used to watch his videos, but to me, Brad Jones has become completely irrelevant since RLM started Best of the Worst, considering they generally target the same films. I'd rather watch an episode of BotW again than one of his 2010-tier videos. I have nothing against him personally, but he really has very little going for him at this point and the TGWTG-style of doing a riff over an abridged cut of a movie is lazy and boring.

what'S the worst movie you guys think an internet reviewer/channel awesome member has ever produced? I was thinking that the JewWario movie "Fareweel FamikamenRider" is quite high on the list.

To Boldly Flee, for a variety of reasons:
1) Comedy is an inherently "get in, get out" genre, so what should be 90-100 minutes winds up being 3 1/2 hours, a length that their "Rando" humor can't sustain.
2) When it tries to be serious, it's laughable in its ineptitude.
3) Jabs against SOPA that were dated when the movie came out.
4) It's the beginning of the end of The Walkers being seen as talented, considerate people in the eyes of many.

The Linkara movie. I haven't even seen it, and I know it's absolute dogshit.

To be fair, the only film/game/whatever critic webseries that's even worth watching anymore is Red Letter Media.

by the way, in case someone wonders what I even mean with "The JewWario movie" (I at least haven'T seen anyone bring stuff up here in regard of it) and why I think it is bad, if not even worse than the Linkara movie, let me explain it in a very short manner:

It is a movie made by MarzGurl and other channelawesome contributors and meant as a "tribute" movie to JewWario/Justin Carmical after he died. Supposedly it is meant to be based on an idea JewWario had for a Kamen Rider parody he wanted to make a few webepisodes about. What it really is, is a cheaply made 2 hour long movie in which they actually put context from real life in regard of Carmical's death in, to make a movie about Marzgurl trying to fight off some supersentai villains, while Carmical's very own existence is boiled down to the internet persona he played. All in parts to also earn a quick dime on the fact that people are still sad about Carmical's suicide. So from a certain point of view, it is a movie meant to profit of the death of someone

As if I didn't have even more reason to dislike MarzGurl... Besides for just being another weeb with no real content to provide the site she wanted so badly to be on in the past.

Wasn't her stick back in the day to either review Land before Time sequels in a very shitty way, or to soapbox about the evils of fandubs and watching anime outside of what online services and distributors had to offer?
