Brad's hosting a twelve hour stream because no one is forking over money to fund Jesus Bro and there's only thirteen days left to the deadline.

You just know that they would have made their budget five times over by now if they didn't suffocate it with a picture of the Walker crew on the front cover.

The very moment I click on it what do I hear? "this movie is the very definition of trying too hard" there is no more irony left in the world, this used up all of it.

Surprising that CA fans are actually having a "Fool me once, shame on you..." reaction to this. Also in the spirit, here's a scene read:

Just read the movie's paper thin, one paragraph synopsis:

"When a popular internet atheist (David Gobble) has a near death experience, he returns to Earth to spread the good news of Jesus to all of his devout online followers. But he soon finds out that delivering his new message comes at a cost."

Here's the funny thing, since he's former TGWTG, they could have and should have gotten The Amazing Atheist to play in the lead role. Why? Here's Brad's subscribers:

Here's TJ's subscribers.

The lead role is perfect for TJ and their movie would've been funded fifty times over by now.

Also, I just found this:

Doesn't TJ hate them though (and vice-versa)?

He doesn't hate them. He did a video where he explained the circumstances leading up to his departure but said he had no animosity towards Channel Awesome or any of its content producers. This was in 2011 though so his opinions may have shifted since then. I know TJ isn't very popular on here (although I rather enjoy some of his videos) but even if you think he's being disingenuous or untruthful, please bear in mind this was years before all the crap with Lupa, Phelous and others and the stuff he says in this video lines up pretty well with what we know about Channel Awesome's management and culture. That said, I don't think TJ would be amenable to being involved in Brad's film and vice versa I don't know that Brad would be thrilled to have him on board:

Shun the unbeliever, essentially is what it boiled down to.
Ah, goes to show how much of assholes upper management is.

Yeah, I figured that considering how much he's hated around the internet, I thought CA and him had a bit of a shit-flinging thing. To see that TJ's (mostly) cool about the whole thing puts new light in the situation (at least to me).

Still, the whole "Banana sex tape" thing is dumb regardless.

Yeah it was dumb as hell but like Michael Jackson dangling his baby over a balcony railing, eventually you've got to get past it.

There's so many more reasons to dislike people.

Insert banana joke here.

I feel like there's a story here and I'm both deathly curious and never, EVER, want to know.

Seeing how Brad is the type of guy that got mad at James Rolf for his ghostbusters video. I doubt he'd ever even think of speaking to TJ.

Since TJ used to be a critic, I don't consider explaining this especially off-topic.

Basically, there are two big reasons (other than being quite an abrasive guy) why TJ is disliked online. The first is that he insulted a rape victim on Reddit, telling her to "go drown in a pool of AIDs". Like I said, I enjoy TJ's content more than most people here seem to, but there's no justifying comments like that. I've searched around for another side to that story and can't seem to find one.

The second is that he appeared in a leaked sex tape where, among other things, he boiled his testicles in oil and shoved a banana up his arse. However, a big difference between this happening to TJ as opposed to someone in the SJW crowd is that rather than doubling down and trying to damage control, TJ admitted that it was him in the video and stood by it. He's even made jokes about it subsequently (including using it to own Onision), but there's no denying he's into some fucked up stuff.
