Pretty sure he didn't know the source material for Power Rangers or why really the original cast left.I have realised his fanbase seem to share the same hive mind when it comes to his reviews.
I remember the two times he ever talked about the Power Rangers and both times he states "I can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to fall for this", like it's some underhanded trick & as if five year olds are stupid for watching karate super heroes on Saturday mornings.
Doug gives me this impression that he thinks he is intellect supreme. He only bends on this notion of being always right when a tidal wave of people force it on him, because disagreeing with a popular opinion isn't exactly profitable.
The number one example I can name is Steven Universe. Funny how he described the show that rips off Power Rangers as the next step in cartoon evolution because of its moral fiber. Only adults give a shit about moralfaggotry, especially in kids cartoons. He literally put that pudge-fest above titles like X-Men when he said this.
Whenever I hear about Steven Universe, my mind goes to the image of
that parent that wants to put rounded corners on everything, because the show features rounded corners on all the artwork. Oddly enough, I get the same effect from Undertale.
And all I can think is "These people are today's adults."
Then the next thought follows; "I'm an adult."
Then the next; "What am I doing?"
Then when I wake up tomorrow, I'll be refreshed. I'll start all over again at the beginning, completely bereft of any of the perspective I obtained the previous day. Nothing accomplished, much like always. Such is the ouroboros nature of brain chemistry.
There is only more futility in change than in complaining, such is the heat death of the cosmos.
I'm going to go & stare at the ceiling for a while. Perhaps I'll forget.
