I think they hurt each other for different reasons. It's not really the same environment as it was back when it started. It's no longer about "adults" screaming into a camera about how this and that sucks in the safety of their parents' basement. It's now about skits, crossovers, and the occasionally continuing storyline attached to the review. They're not trying to find an audience anymore, they're trying to share one. They each have this character to play, but now the characters have to fit together so their audiences will overlap.
And now after a lot of their big talent has left, it's a bunch of C-listers trying to take up the slack. But when Doug has a studio and Linkara has his self-insert fanfiction, they need something to be a draw. Not to mention finding a niche they can fill. Channel Awesome looks for production values, and not everyone can meet their standards or "taste." Fuck the individual reviewers (except for the really big names, who can do whatever the hell they want), it's all for the greater good of Channel Awesome now.
