I do agree with you on his definition of fair use. I'd argue that a lot of the earlier, shorter videos would be protected, but now that these videos use up to twenty minutes of clips.... hoo boy.

Okay yes, I was getting overboard with the whole money thing. I apologize. Though I still think Doug is simply bandwagon jumping, even if the money isn't the problem.

His solution? Replacing the song with himself singing the song in a deliberately terrible way.

They allegedly reshot the pilot a dozen times. To give you an idea of how long it took, Brad Jones, the original host, had hair during the title sequence, but was bald for the show proper. They didn't bother to reshoot the title sequence. And since this is from the same website where the contributors pride themselves on shoehorning needless storylines in their movie reviews, the game show has has a plot. Doug Walker has hosted all subsequent episodes, but I haven't seen anything beyond the second show, which featured a couple of contestants who kept referencing Doug's jokes.

What's even the point of adding "stories" to game shows and movie reviews? Most normal people just want to see a bad movie get trashed not some weird self insert fantasy of Doug's.

There is no point, he fancies himself as a film maker despite clearly showing serious incompetence.
 
Since we're talking about their obsession for 'stories', can we bring up - again - that their storyline for the game show is that either Brad or Doug is an insane monster who's kidnapping people to force them to do his bidding because of their obsession and how little sense it actually makes for either character?

Slightly related, what the hell happened to Doug's insane monster character who would probably *work* for this setup but is ignored for some reason?

People seem to like Some Jerk with a Camera, Count Jackula, and Horror Guru.

I think Last Angry Geek and Film Brain are still okay.
