Not to mention, he was the first choice to write Duke Nukem Forever. They didn't use his script, but he was first choice.

Yahtzee's version was about "taking the piss out of Duke", as he put it. It didn't suit the tone they wanted with the game, with Duke as a straight man to very silly people in a silly world.

Honestly I'd think his idea, if it's Duke being wacky in a serious world, would've been better for the game.

Assuming they also fired everyone who worked at 3D Realms, ditched all the assets they made, and brought in a team that wasn't made up of two dozen clones of John Romero.

Well, he does and did often pander. I know there are several times he's admitted he only said certain things because it'd go over better with the fans. But that neither makes him a character, nor an actor. It just makes him a pussy and a whore.

True - but a majority of them ain't worth it - not anymore, especially not the truly "heavy hitters" there.

I don't know. I read somewhere that the Walker's had concocted some kind of song and dance to explain where the money and time went to their fanbase, but I can't be arsed to confirm.
