It's because he thinks it still allows him to be "famous"

After all, aside from the Walkers and Film Brain, he was the only one to take the anniversary films seriously.

Had Mathew directly said or implied he took them seriously, or are you inferring that from something? Cause I always got the impression he was just having fun with the films and enjoying the excuse to ham it up (but I could also be misinformed/misunderstanding).

That's the impression I got, at least. I do know Doug and Lewis were totally serious.
 
Well you know that if Linkara left he'd make a big spectacle out of it, the Walkers and Machaud might try to cover it but Lewis would go out of his way to make it a big thing. Probably to get Lindsay's approval and the attention of social media, too.

Is Strider even that well known outside of the farms? Well, maybe the Steven Universe church has listened to him once or twice but...

Well, Enter did acknowledge him once, and he's got a subscription base of over 250k. So I'd say a decent amount of people know about him.

Let these people get salty - they are worthless and their salt is all they have left as "critics". People good at this juncture will NOT let this be a thing AT ALL.
