Still a solid chance Wendigoon will cover it--he's been down bad for increasingly obscure Youtube horror projects lately--but it's tragic. Seemed like only yesterday it was the poster child for the new wave of "analog horror" that had to innovate on their premise and / or presentation (E: from the previous PowerPoint slideshow meta established from Local58) if it ever had any hope or making it big, and now look at it... Yet to watch it maybe I'll write something more inforned about it then

E: Vol 6 starts with Beavis and Butthead it might actually be a good thing it's irrelevant now.

One hour in and hasn't managed to clear even 5k views. Will need to deploy the Wendishill squadron.

Not only are the views bad, but NO ONE is covering it. In his prime the big bois of analog reactions would've released their first impressions vids by now. But just searched youtube and only literal nobodies are talking about it. Even those are less than twenty! His time in the sun is truly over. Took too long people got tired of waiting.

Edit: It's been 24 hours and still no one with more than 50k subs has made a vid on it. It has never been more over.

Is he being sarcastic, or is this nigga for real?

Also, did anyone ever talk about the Mckinney Family Home Videos around here? I thought it was aight, but I didn't like how the maker sold some vhs of the thing and put it up in like, two installments on some streaming site no one has ever heard of. And the series definitely is hard to comprehend, like there's a lot of shit that doesn't get explained

He's serious. Coping but serious. And he finally got 331k views after two weeks.

Thoughts on Gossip Goblin? Started very horror space opera but has shorts that hit that Neural Viz spot. Both apparently have been contacted by legacy media.

Also, reminder that you can dump/coordinate your own retarded SCP-tier shit here.

Crossposting from the Wendigoon thread him shitting on a random AI instagram horror series. Mentioned he might do Mandela Catalogue so it might not be over for Alex quite yet

it's rich there's this much sperging about AI in respect to analog horror when the entire medium is at its core about trying to do and show as much as possible with the least amount of effort and resources available. I mean Local58 was literally Kris Straub using cheap stock footage and filming his screen with his phone and look at what he was able to do with it. It's only a matter of time until some dedicated autist manages to create something truly transformative to rock the principles of all these "naysayers".

I think that Wendi comes off so MATI in this because he wants to like it on principle. He is clearly biased about analog horror and very obviously biased about things that incorporate Christian theology in horror, so by itself Wendi should like this as much as the Mandela Catalogue but can't because to him and people that think like him using AI is beneath the medium. Alex Kister's greatest accomplishment was convincing Wendigoon that his own interpretation as to how horror is made is the only valid one unless you work for a studio. The fact Wendi defaults to talking about the MC after trashing someone else's work isn't helping dissuade the narrative that he plays favourites.

Nobody is ringing "the next Spielberg" for a movie deal. Not even a fucking short film. It doesn't even matter if the Mandela Catalogue was ever good because people that have used AI like NeuralViz and GossipGoblin have gotten offers by studios. AI, regardless of if we want it or not, is part of the industry and has been for longer than people have been bitching about it. It isn't going anywhere and it never delivers anything good without you having to wrangle it. The AI bubble is bursting. The AI tools to make things worth making are going to become normalised sooner rather than later and then the analog purists won't have that much of a problem because they will be cheaper and simpler to use. And then how apathetic most people are to analog horror now will feel like the golden age because when everyone can do it, it ceases to be special.

God forgive me, but this is Urbanspook all over again. Something isn't bad by itself, it is bad because someone we don't like does it. Wendigoon even resorted to doing the same exact thing he did back then of "I will buy all your merch" if you do as I say. You can see as fame has turned his natural kindness into consoomer aggresion.

I'll never understand why Wendigoon holds MC up as so good. It's one trick, the uncanny valley imposters, can't save it from a rock stupid premise. "DUDE WHAT IF SATAN STOLE JESUS PLACE" is not really something with long term narrative potential, at least as far as it's been shown in MC.

Ironically Angel Engine actually shows more of what I'd expect from a world where the devil literally replaced the saviour: vast apocalyptic landscapes full of freaky ass nephilim.

Sunflower basically made Wendigoon's video almost a year ago in under 30 minutes.

It could've saved him if he he'd gotten his but in gear and finished it earlier. I'll be honest at the begining I found the distortions unsetteling. Now though that shit is just goofy. How can he finish his story if one of the main points of his story dates it and makes it look cringy af.

I do appreciate Angel Engine moving away from AI when it came to the game, I think there's a lot of potential there, plus religious apocalypse stories are in general pretty damn cool.

It's funny how urban spook left a bigger imprint through making faggots mad than other contemporary analog horror makers.
From memory, the painter started strong, ended on a pretty good episode, but the middle was really repetitive. I only recall the barrels, the farm rape, the call with 911 (that was actually good), and the end was good too. I think the creepcast episode was a good summary of it, if you discount all the retarded drama, meats inputs as an artist was also good. He's still an insufferable obese retard. Glad slug is moving on with his projects and doing stuff on other media,

Nostalgia? I think the premise of Satan taking the place of Jesus or whatever the fuck, MC is trying to do would either be short lived as you say, or hit too close to home for a troon.
Although the AI sperging from Wendi was annoying and I ended skipping most of it, I'd agree that bringing an artist on board to fine tune the visuals really helped the series, both in consistency of character models, and style as well.

There's also a new AH series that has like 3 or 4 episodes on ig, the irregs, pretty retarded scary looking aliens are coming to earth to kill you, stick a fork up your ass to live 31 nano seconds longer. It's pretty fun reading the comments poking fun at the premise.

While i agree that ai isn't going anywhere [Gemini Home Entertainment reference], I am confused about you still saying that the "AI Bubble is bursting". Could you explain that?

Sorry for taking so long. What I mean is that AI is plateauing for receptive markets and the optimism overall on it for startups to get money is decreasing. Is like the dot-com bubble. AI won't disappear because it is convenient and as I said, already present in a lot of things regardless of if we want it or not. However, smaller companies will be eaten up by more established ones. Some experts believe there are still some gains left to be made with AI but this seems to be a very exclusive projection that only top dogs may be able to make cash of.

Mild powerlevel, I'm forced to use AI in the artistically inclined job I've but exclusively for small tasks as in removing a car from the back of a photo or setting up SEO (if you don't know what SEO is, I envy you) and even then I always have to wrangle the AI by doing several attempts that still save hours or trimming descriptions and titles. My job description can be explained as a human (Ctrl+C) + (Ctrl+V) because my job is to make it look like my boss is a superhuman that can do all that shit in 5 hours, 5 days a week. There's a science to injecting humanity into AI, which normally is just doing it myself.
