I'd like to point out that February is an odd month in general (since it has less days - unless you're Amber and have a Feb 30th in your calendar), and it was particularly unusual for Amber.
For at least one week in Feb I still saw comments from people (true and honest fans) who were hoping she'd update them on her weight. She kept on promising a video with 8 (I think) weight-ins for the next few weeks, and at the very end of the month she came out with the news of the cat's surgery and her visit to the doctor.

She generated a lot of expectation, and I'm sure a lot of people kept on checking daily on the last week of Feb, hoping for the videos.

TL;DR: Amber created a new type of bait videos, and it worked. I'll see if I can check tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure she made way more money this Feb than she did last year, and it isn't only due to an increase in followers.

When I was searching for info about various expenses I learnt about how small Monticello is. I very much doubt there are any of the companies you mentioned in that area.

As long as its legal in the state I know Uber will allow anyone who meets the like car requirements to sign up. I can't speak for Monticello but I've heard Uber is actually quite popular in smaller areas because they have no cabs or public transport so like the only option is people willing to drive you around in their private vehicle.

I think it's very possible that AL and Becky are babysitting Becky's nephews for extra cash and that's why they keep going over there. Just a suspicion.
 
I'm necro'ing this thread because I'm curious about the car breaking down. I did a little search and found out a few things.

- the car most likely broke on April 5th (according to Amber's Twitter. Archived here. FYI, she took down the tweet where she asks for prayers due to the car breaking down).
- According to this post Becky owns a 14/15 Hyundai Elantra. According to this site, the most common problem with that car is the transmission not shifting.
- I couldn't find specifics, but this post from 2015 breaks down the costs of fixing a transmission:
  • The cost to repair a leak is typically between $150 and $200, depending on the car’s make and model
  • a “middle-of-the-road repair” is replacing shift or pressure control solenoids. A typical replacement cost is $300 to $850, depending on how many solenoids are replaced
  • the average cost of a rebuilt transmission is $2,800 to $3,800, and the average cost of a replacement transmission is $4,000 to $8,000.

So, the repairs (most likely) will cost between $150 up to $8,000. The car has been (allegedly) with a mechanic for at least 5 days (broken for 6), and Amber has been hinting about "all the stuff she's going through". Wouldn't that be enough time to fix a transmission?

IF this was a hidden defect they're out of luck and will have to pay for the repairs themselves (caveat emptor and all of that). If this was caused by lack of maintenance, again, they'll have to pay for it, and AFAIK the state of roads/streets doesn't cause damage to transmissions. In short, they'll have to pay for it. (I also don't think car insurance would cover that)

I might be jumping the gun here, but I suspect our gurl don't have the money to pay for repairs. I'll wait to find out how long it will take for them to get this car back (or another one).

Edit: partially ninja'd again by Amber herself. The car was towed on a Thursday, no one touched it on Friday and apparently that mechanic doesn't work on weekends, since he can only check it on Monday, but will only work on the car on Tuesday (April 10th).

Amber's never been big on fixing broken shit anyways. I bet she's just searching for her next sped with a running car. Becky has run her course.
 
So let me get this straight, she's bragging about making $1,900 a month? That is like poverty status. I don't know how anyone can survive on a salary that low. The way she brags, I assumed it was closer to like 4k a month or something. Sad.

Thank you. With that in mind and the fact that there was fluid all over the ground, wouldn't it be more reasonable to come to the conclusion that the radiator probably cracked? Depending on if there are other parts involved (like the main fan needs to be replaced and hoses are probably fucked, too) that bill can add up pretty quickly. Good thing $800 isn't expensive, huh AL?

A cracked radiator wouldn't prevent the transmission from working. Despite Amber's convoluted way of explaining it, it was quite clear the engine was still running but Becky was unable to put the car in gear.
We don't know how long it took for them to be rescued - someone coming by and pushing the car off the road, waiting for the tow truck, waiting for the "friends" to come pick them up, going to a grocery store and then coming back - but those things take hours (when I needed a tow truck it took a couple of hours for them to show up, and I was in town. They were in a highway, I think). If it was the radiator there wouldn't be much left for Amber to notice when they drove by on their way to the "friends" house.

The "steaming" could had been transmission fluid spraying on the hot engine.

Not only that, but it's $1,900 supporting two people. I don't know if she realizes that it's only because she lives in the middle of nowhere in Kentucky (a place she claims to hate so much) that she is able to live off her YouChoob bux. She would be so fucked if she lived anywhere outside of a small town in Appalachia.
 
I doubt they're getting the car fixed.. If they were, Amber would probably be on twitter talking about how she's such an amazing & giving person because she's the one paying to get the car fixed.

But we'll see. Great timing to be buddies again with Rafe though.

Yeah, exactly. I mean, that would be a really nice chunk of change if she had a real, full-time job on top of that, but to live solely on $1,900 a month is almost an impossibility if you're an adult.

She puts such low effort into her videos, I imagine she could have a full-time job and still upload everyday, not sure why she just doesn't do that so she could have even more money for her WalMart excursions. Oh yeah, I forgot...she can't drive because she's afraid to drive, she can't speak with people over the phone, has debilitating depression, cannot sit in a chair for more than an hour at a time yet cannot stand for more than a few seconds at a time, makes "a ton" of money as it is on YouTube, lives in the middle of nowhere where it's difficult to find a job....what else am I forgetting here? I know there's more...
 
I wonder if Becky's sister will help pay for the car, or if they will somehow guilt her into it? I mean they could go with the argument that they have put a lot more strain on their vehicle for driving to her house in the first place, which iirc they said isn't really too close, and then also taking her to work and the kid to school repeatedly. I'm not saying she should help them pay for it, but I wouldn't put it past Amber to try and squeeze money out of whoever she can.
 
I don't know shit about cars, so maybe someone more savvy can explain: is it normal to have a car that's only a few years old have that kind of issue? The only time I've come across cars that were undrivable/ that expensive to fix was after they were at least around 15-20 years old.

Im sure Becky and Amber didn't take excellent care of the car, but exactly how much neglect or maintenance avoidance would cause this?
