I'm necro'ing this thread because of this snap uploaded today by
@Trasha Pay That A$$;
In short, Amber now claims to earn 10k a month "or more".
Bless her heart. Nothing she says makes any sense. Let's say that she is pulling in 120K and paying taxes (a huge assumption, I know) on that as income. Including state and federal taxes, that should still leave her with about $6,811/month.
She then says she's paying student loans. I don't know her student loan situation, but I doubt that she's racked up significant debt considering she went to school for such a short period of time. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe that she finished even a year of college? To err on the side of caution, let's put her current student loan balance at 20K and assume a 10 year repayment plan with a 6.8% interest rate. Her payments on such a plan would be about $230, so she's still sitting at $6,581. The rule of thumb with student loans is that you're fine with payments so long as your debt is less than your annual income. In order for her student loans to be a significant burden on her, they would have to be over her alleged income of 120K which is insane for her level of education.
She then has her medical expenses. She hasn't been to the doctor's lately and hasn't started at a therapist yet so I'm not sure what she's talking when she says "hospital/therapist/doctor crap". A monthly Lexapro subscription costs about $165 on the so let's round that up to $200. She's at $6,381. The only thing I could think of that might be a serious debt burden to her would be when she abused the ER? Google says a visit to the ER costs around $1,233 and I'm not aware of AL getting any expensive surgeries or procedures so I can't see this being a serious burden either, at least for someone making 120K. CoL
CoL in bumfuck, KY is not over 6K, which is probably what AL should be left with after all these expenses. Even if this is off by a few grand, her CoL with roommates and Hyundai car payments is not over 2K. We know she has zero impulse control and is obsessed with status symbols (the macbook, her sudden interest in the Louis Vuitton purse, her insistence on buying tacky designer purses at TJ Maxx). If she was really pulling in this kind of money in such a low CoL area, it would show. Also, remember she's claiming 10K is a "bad" month for her, so she should be bringing in even more than that!
SocialBlade assumes she pulls in $8,900 on the high side but alright AL.

I think AL's perception of money is really warped b/c she's only ever really known poverty. People tend to think of themselves as middle class, even when they are not, and assume that their social circle is the norm for the rest of the country. AL's social circle has, for the most part, been lower class. She compares herself to people who make either minimum wage or barely above it, which is $7.25/hr in KY. So she'll be bringing in 30-40K a year and think she's loaded b/c her friends are bringing in closer to 20K/year. Ofc, even 40K for two adult women is really not a lot but AL doesn't realize that.
