This is the exact problem though. Fat didn’t just happen to Amber, she didn’t get fat overnight. Certainly as a child her foster parents should have guided her towards healthy eating habits more, but as an adult she can either take it upon herself to consult with dieticians, listen to them and do right by herself or not. It’s not fair, but if life was fair, there would be nothing to achieve.
Every human being deserves decency and respect until they refuse to show it to others. I think blessedaquarius forgot about that part.
Her foster parents DID take her to weight watchers, and I'm assuming the state would have made available dietitians and therapists, but she probably didn't want that, and she didn't follow through with weight watchers. Before her foster parents took her, her sixth (maybe 5th) grade teacher spent her own money to take amber to weight watchers, that didn't take either.
Amber has two problems, she's eternally committed to being the victim. At 30, being the victim of a fucked up childhood just isn't an excuse. She doesn't want therapy to cross into being a survivor? Fine, her problem. But she no longer gets to wave the victim card because she has the means to fix it. So problem 1 is amber likes to curl up into victimhood like it's a warm, comfy blanket. It gets her attention, and gives her an excuse to avoid being an adult.
Amber's second problem, obviously, is that she's super-mega obese. If she was able to fix her mental shit and kick the victim addiction, she could be a decent, happy, functional death fat. I think it's gross, you all think it's gross, strangers think it's gross, but she could have a happy 4-5 more years on the planet. Or she could work on her obesity. But the obesity has become much like the victimhood, she gets warm and cozy feelings when she complains about it. She likes the sympathy, she likes appearing helpless. Fueled by feel-good sympathy, she feels like it's a free pass to chomp through life like pacman.
The victimhood is more annoying than the super morbid obesity, because tons of people had fucked up backgrounds, and most of them get their shit together instead of complaining on the internet for fun. If she could lose the victim mentality, she could probably apply that to weight as well. She's not victim of those gross mounds of lard, she's the architect. So she can stop whining, do the hard work and fix that, too. FFS, if stroke survivors can relearn to use their hands and learn to walk and talk again, just shutting her mouth and eating normal amounts is an absurdly small effort in the grand scheme of things. But amber doesn't want to be a survivor, and that's all there is to it.
