The doctor finally figured out that Amber just want the prescription refilled for free, so she said Amber needs to come back to the office (and pay). She probably put her foot down and said she won't write a refill and used lab work as an excuse to why.

As for why it's taking Amber so long to get her labs done, it's two fold:
1. She's procrastinating. I could say it's because it will be expensive, but Amber is ignorant and has no idea how much it will cost,

Eh, not really. The only thing that would fuck her up and make her have to return would be (as others have mentioned) if she screwed up her fasting which we all know she would. The amount of blood loss compared to her total volume would be minuscule and despite needing a battery of tests a lot of them can be conducted on the same (shared) vial of blood.

Tbh I think it does have to do with cost but also the fact that if there is something wrong on her blood work, she'd have to face the reality that the haydurz were right regardless of if she ever admits it on camera.

She's probably really resistant because she doesn't want to be diagnosed officially with diabetes, that would prove the haters right.

She may be worried that the phlebotomist won't be able to find a vein easily and she'll have to get stuck a couple of times. Can you imagine even applying the tourniquet around that Smithfield ham? Even if that's the case, it's horse shit. She's a goddamned adult and most of us don't like having blood drawn, but understand that it's just a part of life.

I actually joked with the phlebotomist that she must be expecting a lot of patients and she was like, nope, those are all for you. I will say that I got pretty light headed, but they were able to do everything in that one draw so I don't think the number of things they're testing for should matter.

I don't have that confirmed, but she's 27 and "claims" she hasn't seen a doctor in 10 years until the magic singing doctor. Most girls don't start seeing one until about 18 or so unless there's an issue. I'm just assuming that no one with a medical degree has ever examined her dainty hole.

I never really thought about other doctors except for a general practitioner. It's a good point, actually. She probably hasn't ever been to a gyno. She said she got her teeth taken care of when she was a teenager so we have a tentative confirmation on a dentist visit but... Just can't quite wrap my head around a woman who has access to medical care but doesn't use it. And she has very irregular periods as well. HOW do all of these red flags just fly right over her head?
