Regardless of what started it, I feel like with eating disorders they must be managed in a similar way to addiction. No one's saying it's easy work or that there's even a finish line, but regardless of how you got here, regardless of muh trauma, you either DO THE WORK to get better or you continue to be a piece of shit, destroying yourself and causing great harm to the people tangled up in your life.
Her family is full of addicts, she inherited a broken brain too. It's so apparent especially if you've ever had a drunk/drug addict in your life. Addicts lie as much as Amberlynn. And I remember saying this in a post a while ago but I'll repeat it here: People with addict brains tend to be overly optimistic about their ability to change, and to change quickly. This is why she gets so hype about her "plans" over and over again like Groundhog Day.
It sounds fucked up but in a way I'm glad Amber doesn't have anyone in her life who TRULY cares about her because when you truly love people like this, it is an agonizing existence to deal with their shit.
