Just adding a detail for context. With the message from Megan to the informant (03.png - the white background image), the informant commented that this message wasn't written in the style that the informant knew Megan to write in, and suspected that it was dictated by Emily. Jordy found that significant, considering Amber read that whole speech that her audience said didn't sound like her and had suspected that emily had a hand in it.

For example, I know a mom who had full custody of their child the child's entire life. All it took was a DV incident with the mom's new husband where mom had the cops called and ex-hub prosecuted - child was sent to bio-dad afterwards for safety. Mom still has legal custody and rights, but child is physically placed with the bio-dad (who is not the persecutor of the DV incident naturally) because given the situation, even with the mother going no-contact with now ex-husband and following through with charges/court rulings, the child had begun attending school at bio-dads house during legal proceedings and they didn't want to continue to upset child's life. Mom didn't really do anything wrong, but the child's welfare was foremost.

Not defending Emily by any means but it's easy to speculate and there are many factors. The above situation was* state that historically favors the mother.

It could well be that Emily did not want to have custody because of her line of work with night shifts, or many other perfectly acceptable reasons. We do not know what access to her daughter she has. Regardless, Amber is not happy with having a child that take the attention from Emily to her. The child will always have precedence over her, which will drive her resentful.
