She thinks having an invasive surgery where parts of her body are removed and she could possibly drop dead on the table from the anesthesia is the same as grabbing a nail to hang up a picture on the wall. Just getting dumber and fatter every single day.
Gastric bypass doesn't remove any parts of the body, it just rearranges the digestive system. With VSG or DS, the only part removed is the cut away portion of the stomach.
Wouldn't even have to brag. Almost all medical intake forms ask for your employer and/or occupation. I have never had an intake nurse or doctor not ask me exactly what that is...even if i put "Pro Footballer" they'd ask what position, what team etc. They would DEFINATELY start asking about her employment if she put "Self Employed" when trying to figure out how she's going to pay for it, making determinations of work impacting rehab...
And with the staff being acutely aware of "famous deathfats" they were probably aware. They know who Tammy is, They likely know who Nickado is, and they would most likely have figured out who Amber is.
They really don't give a fuck beyond how they'll get their $23k. You either have it, can get it, or have insurance to cover it. Most surgeons prefer insured patients because if something goes wrong during or after surgery then insurance will cough up the additional expense. When a person self pays (which happens before any surgery takes place) there is no guarantee that they'll be paid for additional costs afterwards. That's also why bariatric surgeons will normally not do revisional surgeries on uninsured patients, because they have a much greater complication rate and there aren't many folk out there that can just hand over a blank cheque.
As for knowing who she is, that's irrelevant. Maybe some staff do, some don't. They don't need to look at her channel to know she's a trainwreck. They also don't need to check her channel to see she's non-compliant or that she binges. Amber is a textbook fat slug thinking WLS is the only way forward. She loves to talk about herself in a victim role and guaranteed she made a big deal about binge eating. Had she not done that she may have been able to skate through the process provided she showed continuous weightloss. She couldn't though, she "plateaued" at 500lbs. More likely she gained between weighins and was asked to please explain. She's also now shown she's an immature entitled brat with her reaction to being told "NO". She is certainly not doing herself any favours right now. All she needs to do is accept the decision, have some pysch counselling by a professional that is well versed in the bariatric field, and follow the dietary advice of the clinics dietician. The rest of the process will look after itself.
ETA so I don't double post
I don't see why they would give her a date to begin with when she's begging to have it solve her problems now now now.
She's NOT getting a date until they approve her for surgery. Meanwhile, seeing an actual surgery date as her "goal" is ridiculous. She's been given her goal already. It's a "full year, 12 months, 365 days" without a single binge. Point blank period Amber. There's also the issue that no hospital is booking surgery dates a year out. Anything could happen in a year including the surgeon being unavailable, the patient status changing in a way that precludes surgery, or even some incident which means the hospital is out of action. It is just unnecessary paperwork for everyone involved. No-one was predicting the pandemic a year out of it happening, and look at how fucked up that made elective surgery timetables.
I had an elective surgery cancelled three times last year as Covid numbers peaked at various times. Twice it happened while waiting in the surgical admittance area. Imagine spoilt brat Amber if she was scheduled, ready to go to the OR and they cancelled her surgery on the day. Uber eats would be ferrying take out to her door on the hour.
They're definitely used to food addicts so these kinds of sob stories shouldn't take them by surprise.
Oh, they've heard it all before, which is how they know she is not ready for surgery, so they won't set a date until she's proven she is.
