You're also forgetting the detail that Amber started these relationships with the end goal of trapping one of them into marriage so they couldn't leave her. Which means that Amber's decision to marry was probably as soon as the first message came in. This level of speed can only be explained using Zefram Cochrane's Warp Theory.
