Yeah I see what you mean but we don't really know how she grew up. She lies so much to get sympathy. I don't believe a word she says.
As for her at toddler age- well doesn't do any good to think of her that way now. We've all probably had shit happen in our childhoods- we didn't grow up to be a narcissistic, sped mentality, morbidly obese manipulator. She's reached the age of accountability. Her childhood doesn't really matter.
It may sound cold but she gets no sympathy from me. The girl has probably had emptiness in her her whole life. She's been obese since toddler age. She may have been an unruly demon child. We just have to go by what she is now.
You're right of course, we don't know anything about her past, and she could by lying. But...I think there may be a grain of truth to what she is saying. People usually don't balloon up to 600 pounds if they are mentally healthy and as for being an obese toddler, someone was giving her that food she wasn't getting it herself.
I have to, however, respectfully disagree that her childhood doesn't matter, whether we want to believe it or not we are shaped by our childhoods to a certain degree, of course that doesn't necessarily mean that someone who had a bad childhood grows up to be a shit person or vice-versa. But the way in which we grow up, the environment we are in the people that we are around does have an effect on who we become.
Now, as an adult, she doesn't get any sympathy from me, she is a grownup and therefore needs to be held accountable for her actions. Though it seems that no one has ever loved her enough to do that, and in turn "they" have done a huge disservice to her as a person. Being held accountable usually starts at an early age, as does getting reprimanded for lying, having an attitude etc. It seems to me that Amber gives no fucks about what kind of attention she gets, whether its positive or negative, as long as it is attention.
In my opinion, Amber is a perfect example of someone who was left entirely to their own devices through critical stages of emotional and behavior growth, and that's not fair to do to a child who knows fuck all about the world. And yes I know life is a crap-shoot and you mostly have to play the shitty hand your dealt and either keep playing or tap out, but the doesn't negate the fact that something like that happening to a kid is fucked-up and more often than not produces fucked-up results.
Amber as a child has my sympathy because there is very little she could have done to change the situation that she was in. And look at the results, she has a brother who is a fucked up wacked-out drug addict who lives in his car, and Amber, a god damn sideshow of freakish proportions, who is slowly digging her grave with a knife and fork. Probably the only one from that household...trailerhouse hold? that escaped completely unscathed was her little brother who got adopted. (And I am morbidly curious to see how he turned out)
That being said not all children who are completely ignored/ abused by their parents or society turn out to be giant useless pant loads, but I will say that these individuals, the ones who manage to claw their way up from the cesspit they were dumped in, tend to have a certain amount of awareness and therefore a higher intelligence, intelligence defined as being able to predict what the outcome of their actions will be in the future. And I think that is something Amberlynn is lacking.
The fact that she lives in a household of spineless pussies who, selfishly, would rather not have to shell out rent and give no shits about the person slowly committing suicide in front of them is sickening and makes me wonder just how they became so fucked up.
edit:apologies I didnt realize it was such a huge text wall I often forget how retardedly huge my computer screen is. Thank you
@Slappy McGherkin for pointing that out
