Maybe I'm a little naive in thinking they can be taught."Proper care" would be releasing it and its family back into Sub-Saharan Africa. They are not modern humans and no amount of funding and understanding will ever change that.
They're closer to animals, that's all. Chimps have exactly the same sense of humor. They'll break a monkey's bones and toss the thing around, screeching in delight before they tear it apart and eat it.
I guess occasionally seeing one that breaks through makes me hopeful.
