Has an African ever invented a mythical creature? As far as I know they only ever got as far as ghosts and shit.
Anansie the Spider comes to mind. And they have their own zombies.

Honestly, I wouldn't blame them if they missed out on monster making. When you have actual lions and elephants fucking your shit up, you don't need to imagine manticores and giants.

Here's something crazy. African languages don't have names for individual flowers. Roses, daisies, daffodils, goldenrod, it's all just 'flower' with no interest beyond that.

Edit: @NoReturn That's so cool! Love that kind of stuff. Why can't we hear about cool shit like that?

I was going to write a snarky synopsis, but this is better:

This could describe what are now thousands of different traffic stop videos on the internet, always the same, over and over. It's all so tiresome.

It's not all doom and gloom. @Ponzo just posted some fucking kino AI generated video just 3 hours ago
My instagram feed is just full of these AI videos.

Do you remember when “the shopping cart test” was going around on Twitter and so on? Like, “you can tell who’s a trash human being by who puts back their shopping cart and who doesn’t.”

Well, it’s true. I started Paying Attention and now I have Noticed.
Similarly, you can do a “who parks in the temporary pickup spots meant for online orders only and walks inside to spend EBT on corn syrup” test. Was pulling into the grocery store parking lot today and two nappy headed jogger youths in a truck had parked across TWO pickup spots and were walking inside.

They feel no guilt. They feel no shame. They are not bound by our rules or morality. They are incompatible with a high trust society.

I can cite examples experiments using the scientific method showing simulation theory possible if not probable.

tl;dr liberal white woman works in Haiti writing articles about how white people are bad and black men are victims ...gets raped by a black man ...learns absolutely nothing
always remember that when these types of paranoid women think of the average man- a mindlessly violent killer and rapist with absolutely zero inhibition who will never not take the opportunity to hurt a woman for absolutely no reason and with no provocation- they are actually thinking of the average inner city, typically black, hoodlum

civilized men have always loved and protected their women
the "i can't walk safely in the streets, i'm scared for my life!" cries began shortly after the "let him go he a goode boye he dindu nuffin" ones

My personal favorite is probably the concept sub atomic particles change behavior when observed and revert back to previous behavior when they are observed. I'll try explain this the best way someone with almost no formal education beyond HS ever got.

The "Double Slit experiment" demonstrates some forms of matter only observable with special high end laboratory equipment behave differently when they know someone is watching. If someone simply observing changes the behavior or characteristics of matter that has no sentience of it's own it strongly suggests it's being manipulated by an outside force aware someone is observing. It's more complicated than how I'll phrase this but, if you fire particles through two slits and setup equipment to toggle on/off to observe it they still act the same way as if they think they are being observed despite the equipment to measure this experiment being non functional to track the pattern they take at that moment.

Even further you time the observation equipment to "interact" with the particles AFTER they pass through the slit they change pattern to from wave to the more linear resembling the slit they had to pass through. The photons and electrons being observed are moving at or near the speed of light; now there is timing at play that changes so fast it could be considered time dilation or depending on how you view it is literally retroactively changing it's pathway.

Physicists consider photons aka light to be one of if not he most constant repeatable forms of matter in the universe and here it is zigging and zagging when you look at it funny.

It could be considered confirmation bias or subjective reasoning if they are being manipulated by an outside force and it only shows up requiring extremely high end equipment the average person will never witness this with the naked eye and if when they do it's on a subatomic level, they won't care.

A few hours ago you didn't know Walmart was tracking your face. I had figured that was just common knowledge to anyone being cautious of machine learning. If you can explain to me why any of the above doesn't suggest an unseen intelligence is controlling something lacking it's own sentience, go on then.

It sounds like you might have seen a TV program from the early '00s titled "What The BLEEP Do We Know?" which made the claim that the wave function collapses based on conscious observation - i.e. a person is looking at it.

That's not true. That TV program was misrepresenting the science.

There is definitely a lot of very strange behavior at the quantum level. You mentioned a few: the double-slit experiment, delayed choice, spooky action at a distance.

But there's no evidence that consciousness is the cause.

My biggest criticism of simulation theory is that, when people who believe it want to make an argument that we ARE in a simulation, they point to things like quantum effects. But if I want to make an argument that we're NOT in a simulation, then no matter what argument I make, the people who believe we're in one always say, "well maybe that's simulated"

I mean, I could point to the exact same weirdness you just listed, and use it to argue that we're not in a simulation. But I've done that before and there's a 100% chance you're just gonna say, "well maybe the simulation is simulating that"
