The city I live in has a commuter rail system but I've never used it. Perhaps people that regularly use those wouldn't be surprised, but when I took the Denver Light Rail from downtown to the airport last week, I was actually surprised to see
this type of shit on it. Especially because it was 0545.
Anyway, after the young black scholars had finished smoking whatever, they started to move down the car. I'm standing with my little bit of luggage since I had just enough that I didn't want take up a whole bench. The two don't come near me and go right to harassing a young white lady for gibs. They don't get physical with her, but they're right up in her face and she very clearly and very loudly announces she wants away from them. She takes her stuff and moves all the way down the car from them. I'm not Captain Save-a-Ho so I doubt I'd have intervened even if they got violent.
The security guard comes through about a minute later to check tickets and she talks to him. He then goes and talks to them and proceeds to do sweet fuck-all when we hit the next stop. You can just see on his face he couldn't care less. There's a lot of signage in the area that talks about how seriously the city takes behavior on public transportation, all that "If you see something, say something." I honestly can't tell if they're joking but it does make me laugh a little bit.
If you're willing: do you remember what you were carrying back then, and how? Is it being armed and down to fight that makes you feel like you were "stupid/crazy back then" or are you describing your general attitude in public?
