in a way i think people like these do an amazing job of 'representing' exactly who they're looking to appeal to
it's the same reason kamala is doing the exact same "sassy aunty" bit

let this be an expression of who their main target audience of voters is and don't let anyone tell you our society isn't now built to benefit said people above all else

When I first watched this scene as a starry eyed 20 year old I was like "wow Tony is hilariously out of touch, I would never be that way!" Now I am the exact same with my girlfriend and will be with my kids. They can dismiss me as the funny out of touch guy but I won't let them ever be lulled into false comfort around YOU KNOW WHO.

Also, the way The Sopranos handles racism and everything else is so hilarious and hands off that it resonates with both sides. My other favorite scene:

TLDW is that certain individuals within our society took out massive small business loans during Covid, spent it on whatever the fuck they wanted, and are now getting arrested for owing five figures to the government.
The PPP Borrower's List is worth a look too. Apparently someone's location was obtained by his "opps" through this list and they then found him and killed him in a McDonalds.

Their whole lives, the government has given them a free ride. Why would they think these loans were any different?
