Law enforcement was reportedly dispatched to the premises at around 11 am local time after they received a call that a male had drowned.

Per TMZ, detectives are investigating the death as a homicide but the outlet was told that is standard procedure.

An official cause of death is unknown and it likely will not be disclosed until an autopsy and coroner’s report has been completed.

Carter rose to fame as a child star with hits like “I Want Candy” and “That’s How I Beat Shaq” and was also known for being the younger brother of Backstreet Boys Nick Carter.

His rep could not immediately be reached for comment.

man I can only imagine how much creepy Hollywood shit he's been through.
Pretty sure his mom pimped him and his brother out to Lou Pearlman - the guy who "created" all those boybands in the late 90s/early 00s. Dude was a mega creep with those guys, along with all his other shady shit.

We all knew this was coming.
No idea who he is. Have seen the name a couple of times. Whatever...

Former child star famous for a music video with Shaq. Got diddled by dirty old men and ended up a trainwreck.

I remember trying to throw my little sister's Aaron Carter CD out the third floor window because I was so sick of hearing it. Lost track of him until he resurfaced as a human disaster. Sad to see someone die so young. But it was not really all that avoidable at this rate.

For millenials and Gen-Xer's he's another one of the "oh shit that guy died? And he's how old now? Fuck, I'm old..." people who was a one-hit wonder or some such and whose bygone popularity really only serves as a weird memento mori for society when their name is brought up again in some incident.

Don't know anything about the guy other than the one song he was in that I forgot even existed until I read the article.
And I'm pretty sure his older brother was the much more successful singer from the Backstreet Boys group.

EDIT: Yeah, and it says as much right there at the end of the article.

And I wanted to check out the sister that he said raped him when he was aged 10-13 because she was bipolar... and yeah she was hot as fuck. I say was because tragically, she died young too. Died aged 25 in 2012.

Here's a picture:

Name rings a bell. I'm guessing he was one of those boy bands figures gone solo. Now he's dead.

I have no idea who Lou Perlman is, but I Googled him and this documentary came up:
Just watch the first 30 seconds!!! Aaron pops up crying and saying "Without him who knows where I would have ended up, man. In Tampa?"

You ended up dead in a bathtub in Lancaster, CA. not really an upgrade.

He has a Wikipedia entry, but this gives a sum up of his confirmed crimes:

The pedo and molestation allegations have always been around, but like with most allegations - it's not like it's on film. Dude was a massive creep, and deserved to die in prison.

Sadly, Carter's family was so fucked up that I think he's one of those who feel loyalty to a molester, because the pedo still managed to be better than their own family.

I never heard of Aaron until he started popping up in the last few years acting all drugged up and crazy , getting clowned on in different podcasts (I’m a zoomer so wasn’t aware of his 2000’s fame). I like watching lolcows who are terrible liars (like Wings, Boogie, Ralph etc) cause I find them funny and Aaron was definitely in that category. His No Jumper podcast interview was just three days prior to his death and he’s the exact same as always, lying about his wealth, lying about being 5 years sober, talking shit about his brother. It’s sad that Hollywood just ruins children like this and turns them into shells obsessed with their own image and people’s opinions to the point they say and do anything for attention.

The only reason I know who he is is because of this song. Didn't expect to ever hear about him again and seeing him now... yeah that's about what I expect.

RIP.

Drugs, most likely.

Did you know he accused his brother and sister (who died of an OD as well) of molesting him? He also threatened to kill his sister-in-law

Dude had problems

I suppose there is more dignity to dying in your home in a bath tub compared to dying in the streets of Tampa, Florida.

Younger brother to one of the Backstreet Boys (90s boy band). Nothing of value was truly lost, dude has/had a thread here in Beauty Palour.

Is it sad that I thought of this place when I saw the article.
