People on reddit already hated "the rich". The only revaluation is that stuff like a bunch of politicians and seemingly unrelated famous people being involved doesn't just happen in movies. People like peter scully exist lower on the economic ladder and there are undoubtedly a bunch of child rapists with financial issues too. Epstein just had the means to buy an island.

Did we ever find out if Hawking was there for innocent reasons or not? That was the one name that made me the saddest.

For a moment I thought you were talking about Tanner from the "Tanner stage" photos and it got me thinking about how we separate medical or otherwise innocent stuff involving naked children from porn with nudity becoming more sexualised and the advent of the internet. Like those parents who have photos of their kids in the bathtub. I once saw an ad or psa for something history related featuring a clip from some old black and white recording where a mother is scrubbing her son who looks about 8 to 13 years old while he was in the shower. The whole scene was obviously non sexual: the boy just looked mostly annoyed while his mother fussed over him like if she had been brushing his hair. The whole thing seemed like some sort of "daily life back then" but if some family vlogger had included that in a "day in our life" video today they would have been accused of child porn. I'm European and have been to beaches where naked toddlers ran around under the idea that anyone who saw anything sexual about that would be sick in the head but as far as I know that would not be acceptable in America?

Obviously Epstein was not an innocent case but I wonder if anyone has ever been called a creep because the internet or strangers sexualised something that was never meant to be sexual. Pedophelia is the ultimate taboo and for those who don't have the balls to turn it around and say "Why are you sexualising a child. What the fuck is wrong with you" it seems like a recipe for public shaming.

Is massie seriously threatening to release the redacted names again (he wont) even though it's his own fault the names are redacted to begin with. Seriously maybe don't write in your bill that they can censor anything that is apart of a criminal investigation, you know how easy it is to open up an investigation and then do nothing with it.

Does everyone remember a longtime employee of Epstein‘s named Merwin de la Cruz. Merwin was from the Philippines. Merwin was left 3 million in the will.

Crazy enough, In 2025, a Merwin De La Cruz, had his son go missing. Apparently Merwin is not a common name in the Philippines. Thankfully, Merwin’s son, John Rick Francisco (sounds totally Filipino) , was eventually located.

It could totally be another Merwin. Just found it odd.
