Anybody listen to the NYC comedy gala or whatever was being put on by I think the archdioceses last night? Clinton was just savaging Trump with zinger after zinger and the usual Republican leaning crowd there by the end of the night was lapping it up from her at the mike. Donald meanwhile started off ok but lost the crowd by the end. It was a weird reversal of what I would have expected to happen in an event like that and probably the first genuine surprise for me with them on the same stage since Trump refused to go full bore on her at the first debate because of his respect for Chelsea Clinton as his deference excuse.

you're pretty much spot on, it was weird. I'm not sure if Hillary just has better writers, or Trump went off script. Clinton was pretty consistent overall, but Trump, despite starting out alright (especially the Melania speech joke) went way too hard/serious/dark towards the end. It's weird, because one of Trumps strengths is playing to a crowd. At least they both took the roast pretty well.

Despite what some may think I am not Trumps campaign manager. I'm more interested in media spin and shenanigans than who actually wins. And the mindset of people that think that someone saying "Grab her by the Pussy", and Women coming forward for accusations of sexual assault is pure evil and yet increases in unvetted immigration, provoking a war with Russia, and the corruption surrounding the FBI's handling of the email case that together, will affect millions of people around the world isn't concerning at all. After all, a lot of people gave Bill a free pass during the Lewinsky scandal, I often heard at the time that his private affairs shouldn't reflect on his political abilities.

I'm quite interested in the double standard and rationalization going on. Maybe someone can explain it to me.

ITS HER TURN

He was already President during the one failed attempt at impeachment you refer to and no longer appears on ballots. Let me check my sweet-bolt's absentee ballot in a battleground state that hasn't been returned yet, oh yes, 'Grab them in the pussy' Pmurt is on there at this time. Might hurt him at the ballot with her, if she hasn't already marked the circle in that section yet.

I think you have to consider the targets, Hillary gets Donald Trump, American meme. Donald gets Bill's wife who is not inherently funny in and of herself. So I mean, how do you knock out something that only exits in the negative from a comedy perspective? Like you said, him making fun of his third trophy wife got over with the crowd because Melania is inherently infinitely more funny than Bill's wife so there grist to mill there.

Have you ever seen a Photograph of Chelsea Clinton in 1992? What a primped up spoiled brat.

so in the new wikileaks we learn that Huma admitted Hillary went to Morrocco to discuss Dept. of State affairs only because she got $12M in return to her private charity

Electing the most corrupt politician we've had in a hundred years at least will turn out well I'm sure
Have you seeen Morocco? Even if they're our oldest friend as a nation, they're still a shithole outside a few nice cities. You couldn't pay me to go there.

Where did this voice come from? Was Hillary wearing an earpiece with someone on the other side to help her out or was it just a weird techinical glitch?

God that shit was awkward. Trump started alright and he had some funny lines, but his delivery was horrible. It was obvious he was in a shitty mood and didn't want to be there. Once he got to calling Clinton corrupt and claiming she hates Catholics it all went downhill and he bombed harder than Vladimir Putin flying a jet over Grozny. The strangest thing is at one point he said "now you may notice Hillary isn't laughing as much as the rest of us..". Nobody was laughing at that moment, he was being booed by the entire audience.

Then Clinton got up and didn't just roast him but doused him in kerosene and lit him on fire. Like, Jesus christ woman enough's enough! Shit was savage. There's emasculation and then there's full on castration.

For the record, historically you're supposed to be self deprecating at the Al Smith dinner, not just attempt to ruthlessly destroy your opponent's ego. I don't think these two got the memo. Or maybe they did and just didn't give a shit.

From an outside perspective the election has gotten stale and boring as fuck but when Trump wins (and he will) it's going to be a golden age for american politics. for better or worse I'll be there to laugh my fucking ass off.

If it was a wireless lav, sure it can glitch just like anything else technical, if it's a wired mike somebody could step or kick on it running around off camera along its path to muff a signal up. It's live TV, shit happens and you're live so there's no cover for it of course. Sound booth operator could have edged a fader bar up too far before realizing he was needing a squelch on the channel is a common explanation. What do you think was being said there as I haven't gone back and analyzed it?

She said she wouldn't qualify for saint-hood (get it?) in regards to Smith's decree about who he had to sit down with to eat which qualifies as self-deprecating but the line went over like a fart in church, ironically. Donald is extremely capable of self-depreciating humor but yeah, he misread the room big time it seemed or maybe he's in full damn the torpedoes mode at this point? Once you're in the kamikaze seat there's really only one way it can end and I bet that's sobering as the target starts to loom large . . .
