Why not make a spinoff where a female Bond is around? Or even like Melissa McCathy's Spy where it is its own thing? If the writing is good where it holds up in its own right, I see no problem.
 
I can't remember the last time I cared about a James Bond movie. I think it reached beyond the point of ridiculousness for me when Bond got that invisible car in the ice hotel movie.

Nigger if you read that article and some of the laughable shit in it and think the problem is Bond not having the 007 number, which isn't the end of the world, you're on some good shit.

That said, Spectre killed my enjoyment of Craig's movies so I wouldn't have watched this shit anyways. Let him retire as bond, the 25th movie should have been a new Bond. Hell, Idris Elba as the newest Bond would be better than this shit.

Yeah, same. Spectre pretty much killed Craig Bond for me(such a waste).

I'm just enjoying mocking this. Realistically, its probably not going to be a big deal(they still want their male audience).

But, its free marketing and ass pats. After this, another male Bond will get cast.
 
Okay, now I'm really confused. Reading the topic about Bond being black, my brain went "Oh, guess they got Idris Elba" or some other black actor thus playing the whole fan concept that James Bond is just a codename thus explaining why the character was played by different actors. But, this is kinda stupid specially since now the codename makes no sense.

Theyre not reinventing James Bond. Bond is Craig, who is retired. Black female has it agent number(007). There have been female 00 agents(Thunderball).

Its just a goofy set up...

I actually do agree that most of this shit making it sound awful is to get seats in the theaters, and either the new Bond will drop halfway through the movie and Bond takes the codename again, or it's not nearly as #MeToo focused as the Daily Mail (lmao) is making it out to be. Or worse case scenario, Craig is to get seats in the theater and he dies during the opening act.
 
Never forget: every series or saga you love and cherish will one day get shit on and mangled until you can't recognize it anymore. For me, first it was Starwars, now it's James Bond, NOTHING is sacred. I pray to God LotR remains untouched until I die.
 
I was never a big Bond fan but I have close family members that LOVE the series and are completely devastated that their favorite film franchise was next on the chopping block.

I can't imagine anything more tone-deaf and suicidal than sacrificing a beloved film series for woke points. It's literal box-office suicide and they. keep. doing. it. No one benefits. The director ends up looking like a jackass, the actresses/actors get stuck in the crossfire, the audience seethes with rage and no one buys shit.

Just make a black female spy character. Hell, make her a reoccurring character in the Bond universe. No one would mind. It would be cool to have a new character for fans to get excited about. But no. Nothing is sacred.
