Why not make a spinoff where a female Bond is around? Or even like Melissa McCathy's Spy where it is its own thing? If the writing is good where it holds up in its own right, I see no problem.

Reading the topic about Bond being black, my brain went "Oh, guess they got Idris Elba" or some other black actor thus playing the whole fan concept that James Bond is just a codename thus explaining why the character was played by different actors. But, this is kinda stupid specially since now the codename makes no sense.

I actually do agree that most of this shit making it sound awful is to get seats in the theaters, and either the new Bond will drop halfway through the movie and Bond takes the codename again, or it's not nearly as #MeToo focused as the Daily Mail (lmao) is making it out to be. Or worse case scenario, Craig is to get seats in the theater and he dies during the opening act.

I was never a big Bond fan but I have close family members that LOVE the series and are completely devastated that their favorite film franchise was next on the chopping block.
I can't imagine anything more tone-deaf and suicidal than sacrificing a beloved film series for woke points. It's literal box-office suicide and they. keep. doing. it. No one benefits. The director ends up looking like a jackass, the actresses/actors get stuck in the crossfire, the audience seethes with rage and no one buys shit.
