Restricted mode has existed for a couple of years already, but suddenly now it's changing and responsible for lowering their views, yup. It's the newest cope dropping from big channels who are falling off and instead of thinking they're at fault, it must be the algorithm or anything BUT them. Back then it was Youtube randomly unsubscribing people, the bell not working, not showing up in their subscription feed and all the other bullshit that Youtubers tried to feed their audience.

Josh Strife Hayes is coping here, he complains "oh my 4 videos got low view counts" immediately after confirming that one of them, his expedition 33 video, actually met his standard viewcount range of 500k+, meanwhile he doesn't complain about his two neverwinter nights videos that did bomb, even though they aren't restricted. Restricted mode also doesn't seem to affect the algorithm at all, see my analysis

He published his metrics in the crashout stream, here's my analysis of that (part 2). He complains about three things with the algorithm (4 if you count his alleged shadowban).
  1. His videos are "restricted" so that anyone in restricted mode (Youtube version of Google safe search) cannot see them. Restricted mode is not on by default (at least in America, may be different in England and Brazil), you need to opt-in, which only adds a browser cookie to your current...

So, just by a sheer coincidence, everyone is "falling off" at the same time, within the last 3 weeks?
Also my recommended is suddenly filled with random sub 100 views videos from channels with 50-100 subs, that i have never watched, instead of channels that are either actually popular or i am subbed to/have watched.

And Jewsh Stryfe Gayes is just an example, i have seen the very same video dropped by more channels that i care to remember in that past two weeks, at least 20+

It's not everyone, just some people. There is probably an algorithm change of some sort, but it's pretty clear it's not cracking down on "spicy content" given the fact that forgotten weapons is unaffected, the new algorithm just thinks these people are making uninteresting videos. Or maybe they all just actually did fall off, which is probable.

isnt it a good thing that not popular channels are getting more love in the algorithm?

The live viewers dropping by 50-70% tells you that his drop off is by his own hand. That level of loss in stream viewers is catastrophic and demonstrates a greater trend in his audience's continued interest. Well, his former audience.

I think they're trying to cull or shelve older channels to push more safe algorithm slop for people to consume endlessly. Video trends just get worse and worse every year. They're copies of copies.
I guess that's what we get with pajeet programmers and CEOs running these things. A platform and its algorithm constructed by, and for, the average 80 IQ streetshitter.

This has been going on for a whole lot longer for me. I have been getting random music with 1-50 views, streamers with 0-5 viewers and sub 100 view videos for more than a year now whether they're relevant to my interests or not.

No, as there is a good reason they aren't more popular. I don't want to see these literal who's on my home page. If they were any good, i would have heard about them already.
 
This seems straightforward:
  • Fewer views on videos
    • Content problems (timing, lag between videos, subjects)
    • Recent algorithm changes
  • Fewer stream viewers

This is not new. I noticed I was seeing small channel recommendations in my feed over 6 months ago and thats a good thing.

Live viewer dropoff hasn't been that big in the short term, but I remember in the first few months of this year he was easily netting 1000-1200 viewers for any random stream whereas now it's more like 600-800. Dunno if any site has metrics for it though, socialblade doesn't

I miss when Synth was a failed normie who only doomed on stream occasionally and didn't repeat the same insights constantly like how on the last stream he ranted about Zoomers not liking top 10s again (even though I get recommended top 5s from tiktok in my YT feed). Bro used to talk about his estranged relationship with his parents but didn't go out of his way to really make a show of it. Now he'll casually talk about his porn fetishes with his parents and act like he's an ultra degenerate who goons to futa 24/7 but is self aware but also brings it up constantly on stream. His degenerate fans who are all tourists from /v/ can fuck off too for feeding into it. The chats nothing but "KINO KINO SLOP BLACKED KINOOOO" None of these newfags even remember Jonet or redclouds, which is another contributing factor to Synth repeating the same shit so the newfags can get caught up. Fuck I'd even take Nevirate back at this point. Streams get shit up with new viewers. I think ReaperoftheGrey is the only OG I still see in chat
