I’ve watched my buddy play silk song, and I’ll give it this. It plays like someone exploring a painting, gameplay aside, you can tell there’s soul put into it, good genuine soul, and with enough of it, I can overlook gameplay.

There’s a difference between it, and that fuckass troon Reddit game Dustborn, because notice I said GOOD soul, and not; “What do you mean I can’t rape kids with my troon gock?! This is le genocide against me! I’m gonna make a game where I’m the main character and I win!!”

I dunno really, a few years back and I would have told you that Chris Chan wouldn't ever have consensual sex that he didn't pay for first and yet here the teflon tard is with a girlfriend from Finland or some shit. Also Cyraxx, of all people, has apparently had a couple of girlfriends, so I don't see it as being impossible that Synth has fucked a girl once or twice.

I’m expecting another phoned in review with a rage bait title and a long rant about female representation that takes up over a quarter of the length with him just unscripted rambling in his irritating drunken slur. I’m expecting him to also shit on the game for x y and z reasons and mechanics that are found in every other Metroidvanias or platformers, but because they exist here, somehow they’re bad. I’m also expecting to hear the quote “I’ve never played Hollow Knight before so I don’t know…”

It has soul but I struggle to understand why HK blew up to the degree it did. Maybe because metroidvanias have always presented themselves as a sort of nerdy, hardcore genre, whereas HK is the opposite and made an effort to appeal to casuals, especially with the big Switch release and so on.

To each their own man, I'm not going to rag on someone liking this but I need gameplay in my game. To me it's game mechanics above all else.

If I want a beautiful landscape I'll just go hiking or something.
 
I don't see what's so difficult to understand about it, the game has great graphics and (although I haven't played it) it seems pretty clear that it's fun. You people are saying it gets repetitive and visually same-ey, but most people don't finish games, and most that do are fine with repitition. It also has that Dark Souls/FNaF trap of possibly fake lore to keep interest going.

If you play other metroidvanias Hollow Knight's gameplay is mid-tier at best, that's why. Also you haven't even played it.
 
Hollow Knight is good, not great or bad, just good and sometimes thats enough. I think part of the appeal was the visuals of the game being different(Bugs) compared to what came before it and it has a weird cutesy look. Add to that the actually deep lore behind the game which is depressing as fuck which will make people more interested or engaged and you get whats possibly a cult classic. All that said im aware is not a game for everyone which is fine.

Hate to admit it but Synth was correct this time, his views aren't down the gutter because he suddenly fell off.
Now, maybe he should have researched things before deciding to sperg out on his few remaining viewers..

How does this explain his livestream viewers falling off though?

He used to get around 1200-1500 live viewers and now he gets around 600. Restricted mode wouldn't impact that.
