Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

Oh, absolutely. It goes right down to using specific brands of electronic components in gear. People will send out their already-overpriced boutique Tubescreamer clone to some faggot with a soldering iron and have the caps replaced with artisanal, seasonal, locally-grown, ethically-sourced components that make zero difference in actual sound quality.

They'll swear up and down that the species of wood you make an electric guitar from dramatically changes the timbre of the instrument. And naturally, the more rare and expensive the wood is, the more desirable its tonal properties are. What a fuckin' coincidence.

Both sound perfectly good. Some people in the comments section are coping that the amp is vastly improving the quality of the cheap guitar so it's not fair to compare, a ridiculous argument. I bet Ichika recorded the whole thing on Guitar Rig 5.

I cannot overstate how much CNC has leveled the field between even the cheapest and most expensive guitars.

It doesn't make economic sense for (just for example) Fender to do the core construction of a Squier Strat to a lesser standard than the most expensive Fender American Strat Ultra, so you get an amazing level of consistency from even cheap instruments.

There are some things you still have to be careful of (quality of pick-up potting, floating bridges on cheap guitars are still complete trash), but it's way, way harder to get a dud guitar these days compared to how it was even 30 years ago.

Reminds me of the grimoire is from Corpse Party: Book of Shadows. It's made with human parts, because a legit one is creepy as fuck.

That's it, the difference between cheap guitars now and 30 years ago are night and day.

one of my go to bass guitars is a cheap £85 Harley Benton and with a good setup plays just as well as my USA made Ernie Ball

So, going back to adult Disney aficionados. This instagrammer here makes me cringe. I swear she has a different Disney fanny pack and set of mickey ears in every photo. She works as a preschool teacher so I'm not sure how she's able to afford constant trips to Disneyland and all of that undoubtedly expensive Disney merch. And she has a TikTooooook~

This is for you:

Credit card debt must account for like 90% of the spending from people featured in this thread
Whaaat? Nooo

The first two were defective, but it's Disney so it's fine!

Hope those pin people are actually rich or something like that. Imagine sacrificing your pension fund for fucking pins. Imagine if they don't even own the property they are filling wall to wall with inane bullshit.
Their Instagram account has the same username, but I still can't tell if it's that they're wealthy, that they have consumer debt, or if their life literally is just Disney and Disney merch.

Thats the beauty of credit and debt, no one can ever tell that your lifestly is a whole bracket or two above your income, well, maybe until there's a recession and you are getting foreclosed but that what ropes are for.

Most likely credit, they really look plain everywhere else. Other than the coonsoming.
The hair of the guy just looks horrifying, like it's a hair cap. It looks so unnatural and makes him look so old.

Just wanted to mention that if there is anything worse than being a "modern" videogame collector is being a "collector". By that I mean spending thousands on dollars on a "physical" game that is available online at a lower price. Limited Run Games is a clear example of this and they also know their fan-base (bearded manchildren) enough that they exploit the cumsoomer within them.

This is a pretty interesting video and I recommend a watch:

https://youtube.com/watch?v=lS3ja5JnkAQ
Limited Run sucks because physical releases should be the default. Fuck you Steam. Fuck you PSN.

To be honest, I dont miss them on PC. Maybe thats because I can still play games from 2002 and not have to drag out an old Windows XP machine. But that doesnt apply to consoles, and why physical releases still have value there.

I remember even before Steam took off, there was starting to be some issues with PC physical releases sold used because of the CD Key being registered to some one elses account, making it so you couldn't play multiplayer (this happened to me with IIRC Battlefield 1942).

Damn, reminded me I always wanted a neon Coca-cola sign in my room, as I think these look really glamorous for whatever reason.
As long as you get one for a reasonable price. I recall in 2004 Neon signs used to be hip and you could buy them for cheap and Coca-Cola isn't exactly on E-thot radar. I'm just astounded that girls are dropping over $1,000 for Sailor Moon/UWU designed neon signs that don't even look good. Especially when all those rooms have to be purple/pink tinted.

I'm not anti-consumerism, by all means. It's not like I don't collect certain things. What gets me is blowing thousands of dollars on something for social media clot. That anime girl neon sign I think is from that infamous Nintendo girl @NoReturn posts, and it's no longer in her videos. Instead it's some other anime girl. Where did that one go? Did she give it away or did she just shove it in a closet while continuing to consoom more trendy pink anime shit?

And this is where the worry lies. I'm sure that girl can get away with it to an extent if she gets sponsors, but what about girls who don't and get hit with the FOMO?

Did you really need the Limited Edition Animal Crossing switch? Or two.. idk if those are PSP's or PS Vita's, but did you need them? Do you HAVE to have a pink keyboard that lights up and sparkles? I got my black wireless keyboard for $20 in 2013. It's not cute but even back then I was like "$20??? Eurghhhhh." I'm not any less of a girl for having it. Yet these aesthetic Kawaii uwu uguu Instagram Tiktok Influencers are driving girls to buying overpriced items just to fit a lifestyle and it cannot be healthy. Especially since aesthetic accounts are niche and the chances of you getting over a million views is really low.

So at the end of the day, what do you have if you don't go viral? A bunch of pink plastic items you might not even like when you hit your 30s. Or 40s. Or 50s. I guess in 10 years if you're a dumpster diver, you'll probably find a lot of cool shit. But until then, I feel sad that girls are being lured by this just to fit in with strangers.

From someone who follows Becky Gerber’s thread, at least this woman has the grace to smile and look happy when she’s at Disney, so I’ll give her that much.

Yes, as long as you like it. But hoarding gaming consoles seems different than just liking it. I highly doubt they play them all, so they could buy just cases. It's not like they do anything with them, other than having it as decor.

Anime girl is Zero Two from Darling in the FranXX, on of those fucking mainstream anime that could be described as "I'm 13 and this is so deep"

Zero Two is so 2020
Friendship ended with Zero Two, now Nezuko is her best friend.

She's also all about that Genshin Impact life now

The issue isn't your style, miss, it's your consumerism.

You're definitely on to something that this has got to be affecting younger girls who see this crap.

Your tastes change over time. I'm sure the me of 10 years ago would be surprised by some of the things I have and enjoy now. The trick is not to do what these people are doing.
Get things you enjoy, but don't develop this consumer/hoarder mentality.
Don't spend all your money. Always set some aside for your future self. Not just for emergencies, but maybe she's gonna have a shitty day and need $5 for a ridiculous fancy coffee or something.
Take care of your things so when you do let them go someone else can enjoy them. It feels shitty being a "thrift-store kid" who can never find anything nice. Donations bins =/= trash cans.
