Hurricane hunter had to abort mission for some reason, they found 105mph winds a few hours ago. A new one is rolling in.

This is a rapidly intensifying storm. By morning, I predict absolute panic in New Orleans. The black are hot towers, means its growing stronger. So black is bad unless your rooting for New Orleans to be wiped out like i am, then it is good.

No. Its different this time because of a warm water eddy between the coast and the storm so If anything it gets stronger the closer it gets and we are seeing that tonight.

Its possible an Eyewall replacement cycle happens before landfall that might hurt its power level but that's really low of a chance this early.

More what would save the area would be a sudden shift in path to the west.

It still has 12 hours to get roided so watch out.

ugly seem to also be trending a few miles north of its NHC track which is even worse for NOLA

Gonna take a nap then crack the whip for an all nighter

Living in florida and having been through many you develop a love for watching these storms..they really are amazing things that cant be explained but only experienced. Everyone should live through at least one category 2 or 3 to get a respect for Nature. People will say oh its just a storm...you have no idea how bad and scary these things get. Just the noise alone of things crashing around randomly is enough to spook you.

Its nice to not be in the cone and i can watch other peoples misery.

Before I go, I will just say they fucked up big time by not evacuating sooner.

The thing is, is that this one kinda snuck up. News media in Louisiana went from Thursday that there might be a tropical storm coming to a oh shit a hurricane the very next day. That left next to no time, which is why traffic is so godawful at the moment.

Recon just found cat 4 winds of 145 mph and strengthening continues and its well on the way to category 5

Expect absolute catastrophic damage in the path of this storm. At those speeds no wibdow or roof will remain

This will be the happening of the year...the consequences of which we dont know fully know yet but lots are gonna die tommorrow

Could you perhaps explain this to non-storm enthusiasts in 12yo English? I'm too retarded to understand this.
The eyewall of the hurricane (which contains the highest winds) are going to fuck New Orleans up, compared to Katrina when the eyewall didn't directly hit New Orleans and was further east.

Ah, that makes sense. As I recall correctly from past Katrina coverage, it wasn't the winds that fucked up NOLA; it was the extreme flooding that came after. I guess we'll be seeing a double-whammy this time.
