Flashback

These storms are no joke. This isn't Coof

If you are a farmer and live in its path...get the fuck out of the city. The odds are very high tomorrow you will be waking up to an absolute monster of a storm and everyone around you will begin to panic and law and order will break down. I've seen people get stabbed over cases of water in these situations and no you cant rely on the cops. They always call in sick.

That is why I asked, lol.

During 'nader season here we had a bunch of storm shelters not open up because muh coof. Lunacy.

If you live in a tornado prone area wouldn't you have a basement tho? I have never seen a house without a basement where tornado's are common. Even apartments will have shelters.

All the mistakes of Katrina are being repeated

People are stuck on the highway again...trying to get out. This convoy will still be here tomorrow unless they open the other highway for Contraflow

Tens of thousands of people were stuck in traffic on the interstate in 2005 and had to ride out the storm in there car

Unfortunately nope. Granted I don't live in what's considered "Tornado Alley," but the South still gets a lot of tornadoes every year. It's kind of weird actually. Having lived through the 2011 outbreaks and having to shelter from them every year has definitely made one of my "musts" for a home be a basement or in-ground shelter, though.

Of course I don't know the actual numbers for homes with basements.

Absolutely catastrophic for new orleans

They better hope this storm does not become a category 4 or 5 like some models say. This will be the biggest happening in hurricane history. New orleans and its suburbs are going to be one big insurance claim come next week.

No actually thats not true this time. Forecast takes the eyewall over the Kenner area somewhere between Laplace.

Nola is about to get its shit pushed in.
That's not the northeast and worst quadrant.
They may indeed get their shit pushed in, but the funny part is that both times it didn't get hit by the strongest part of the 'cane.

If the current path holds according to last forecast NOLA will be getting hit with the Northeast Quadrant of the eyewall, They are not escaping it.
